Balance Sheet Correct but Fund Balance Wrong?
I'm running V9.... My account activity for all checking accounts (1110) of all the funds is correct but most of the fund balances are incorrect. Even my Balance Sheet is correct but the Fund Balances show some crazy numbers that don't match up on any of the funds except on the few funds that have absolutely no activity for the year (2)....
I'm dying here. Its got me bumfuzzled. HELP!

Balance Sheet Correct but Fund Balances Wrong
Alf - Did you ever find out what was going on with your fund balances. I am having the same problem. This is my first year end closing in PC and I wonder if it was because the way I set up the accounting and or posted beginning balances.

When you say the balance sheet is correct, are the equity accounts showing the correct balances on the report or are they showing the wrong balances? Are you in balance? (total assets = liabilities + equity) or are you out of balance too? If you are out of balance when you run a trial balance does it show you out of balance too?
There was an old bug that would allow you to get an account that doesn't close to a valid equity account any more that could cause problems that might look like this. If you download the latest maintenance release, we have built in a check for this condition when you reindex and should give you a warning if you have this problem.

Balance Sheet Correct but Fund Balances Wrong
I think I have discovered something about my fund balances. They are off by the amounts where I did between fund transfers. I went back and redid my between fund transfers and I think I did them right this time. My balance sheet is correct. My trial balance is "0". It just seems like the fund balances forgot to reflect the between fund transfers. The balances are as if I never did the transfers at all. Is that possible?

It depends on how you did the transfers. If you did the transfer by crediting the checking in one fund and debiting the checking in the other, then yes the equity accounts would not change. If you ran a trial balance you would see that the individual funds would not be in balance, but the total of all funds would be in balance.
