I did go and read the post you recommended and the information there steered me in the right direction.
But for the record the root C:\ drive on my computer is actually assigned to N:\ on the PC servers. The counsel earlier was that one's root drive would be seen as M:\.
In any case --- I am up and saving to N:\ and am quite happy.
The root drive letter depends on what other drives you have on the machine. So while many will see their C:
drive as M:
, if they have two CD or DVD drives, or another physical hard drive, theirs may show as N:
