I am using version 9 and have downloaded the latest maintenance release (program date 10/12/04). I have found a couple bugs that need to be fixed:
1). Check Register by Fund (old Cash Flow) Report - The total in the "Income/Expense" line on the summary report and the subtotal line on the detail report shows YTD amounts. These totals should just show the MTD amounts for the month selected.
2). When posting to Fund Accounting from the Contributions module the program will allow you to select a month to post to that is closed. It will allow you to post the contributions and sends the summary transactions over to Fund Accounting for the closed month. Recommend that the program be changed to give the user an error message in the Contributions module when trying to post to a closed month.

On number 2 .. this is something that is actually needed. There are times when adjustments must be made to posted contributions weeks after they have been posted. Often when the contributor gets their quarterly statement, and says .. "well that check was supposed to go to the buillding fund, but it wound up in gerneral fund'. Usually, when ask you get: "No I didn't write that on the check, I thought you knew.".matt wrote:I am using version 9 and have downloaded the latest maintenance release (program date 10/12/04). So money needs to be adjusted. In our case, fund balances also need to be adjusted. Is there another way to do this.

This is where the pledge capability comes in real handy! We've had people pledge to missions. We have quite a few missions funds, but when we look up the person's pledge we can quickly determine how to "designate" their undesignated contributions.

NeilZ,
You can backdate a contribution to any date you like in Contributions to fix the type of posting problems you cite. However, when you go to post Fund Accounting from Contributions for these transactions the system should not allow you to select a month to post in Fund Accounting that is already closed.

This is how it has worked all along. Fund Accounting has always caught this not allowing it to get posted there. Are you asking for a change in the behavior?matt wrote:NeilZ,

No ... not really. There was a question from my financial secretary about this, and when I checked with her again, she told me never mind. She figured it out somehow.Tracy wrote:This is how it has worked all along. Fund Accounting has always caught this not allowing it to get posted there.
