I am still using PC v9 and have never run into this issue before. My 941 for first quarter shows a balance owed of $3.50. I don't have the round up to nearest dollar box checked. I do have the difference between employee and employer calculations set up. I have double checked to make sure I did not get any calculations from Pastors salaries and only employees with taxable salaries.
I have always been a penney or two + or - but never anything over .09. I know PC only calculates on what I enter so would I start with each employees SS and Med withholdings? Thanks.

Re: 941 problem version 9
Since this is the first time you have had this problem, and we have just had the SS withholding change in this quarter. I would make sure that the percentage you entered into the tax table for employee SS withholding is correct.

I have been looking at that. I did set up the 4.2 for employees and the 6.2 for employers. I am now looking at calculations on a couple of new employees but haven't found anything yet. Thanks.

Re: 941 problem version 9
I have found the difference of $3.53 is in the Medicare calculations. I can't quite figure out why. The Tax table percentage is set at 1.450% but it was calculated short in the system this quarter. The only variable is a very part time office employee who's hours change weekly. I separated the office salaries and figured medicare alone and then with the rest of the salaries. According to the salary figures in PC, the medicare tax should be $1061.53 yet the monthly cash management report and balance sheets show $1058 as the total amount to have been paid for the quarter. What am I missing? Thanks

Since there are no cents in that number I would look to see if you have something set to calculate to round to the nearest dollar. It would be very unlikely to have a whole dollar amount if that is not checked in the Tax Table.

In going through the check stubbs and manually calculating medicare against the reports, you are exactly right. I have no idea how that happened since there were not changes to Medicare this year. I can't imagine
why I would change to round up but the box sure was marked. What a headache! Thank you - it always helps to have another set of eyes looking at the problem!
