Budget listing

Post by Frank Henderson »

I've just input next year's budget figures and would like to know how to print out a worksheet containing the present figures and next years proposed figures without all the months showing up as they do now when printing the budget worksheet. We're only interested in the annual amounts at the present time. Thanks.

Budget Reports

Post by Zaphod »

Sorry, but the PowerChurch budget features work on a monthly timeframe. When you enter a budget in Maintain Chart of Accounts, you can specify just an annual amount, but PowerChurch will automatically distribute that among the 12 months. As a result, all of the budget reports display monthly amounts.

The Budget Worksheet Report does show a yearly total, but it also shows the monthly breakdown. It'll give you the information you need, but you'll just have a little extra you don't.

Thanks.

I guess it's the Scottish in me, but it's such a waste printing out 30 pages of unwanted detail when about 3 or 4 pages would give us the info we need. Is this a situation where a report could be especially designed? I've never done one of those yet.

Oh, and regarding the monthly averaging of the annual budget amount: it doesn't always work right. Most do though. For instance, I'll enter a number of, say, $450 and the program will not average it but rather will leave all the months 0 except for one in which the whole $450 goes. This happened in about 4 or 5 instances.

This does sound like something that could be done with a Custom Report. We have some examples in the manual, unfortunately none of them deal with Accounting Reports.

For futher assistance feel free to contact our technical support office at (800)486-1800.
