I am just wondering, when you release funds from restriction, does it automatically check how much is in the account before releasing it?
Example: There is $1,000 in a restricted account. You record a transaction and enter $1,500 as the amount to be released. Does it check and tell you that there is only $1,000 in the account or do you have to keep track of the exact amount that is in the account? Or does it handle that situation in some other way?

Re: Releasing from Restrictions check
I seem to remember that it will do the release, but show that the account is 'overdrawn' ... through a negative number or somesuch. We had the same issue this past August, and the account reflected the payment, until we received some funds to replenish the account. Using your numbers, we wrote a check for $1500, only had $1000 there. The system showed -500, we put 2000 back in that account, and the account now reflects $1500.bayparktreasurer wrote:I am just wondering, when you release funds from restriction, does it automatically check how much is in the account before releasing it?
