Recording Date Joined as Year only

I would like to know how I can record Date Joined, in the membership module, as year only.
The exact date some members joined the church is not known, but the year is known.
However it seems the year cannot be entered alone in the database, unless the exact date and month is included.
Please how do I circumvent this challenge?

We usually just enter 01/01/CCYY and leave it at that, where CCYY is the year they joined. That covers the need to know the year, and just add the actual date with those you have a full date and new members.

Thanks for the suggestion.
But it still makes the date a bit odd.

I think Power Church should consider modifying the date format of the software to accept null values, for the day, month and year.

In such a case year only would work.
And also for the date of birth, day and month could be used.

I hope this issue will be considered by Jeff and co.
They have been doing a good work so far, and I hope this would be considered too.

FWIW ... I don't think any modification is necessary, as there is a very viable work around, which I've pointed out. Null values really don't work in a modern database since the DATE item usually requires the full date to be entered.
