why doesn't couples name show together in mailing catagory

I am wondering why when I add a new family under intergrated data- starts with husbands name (Jack sample)then add wife or partner (Jane)then children if any(Junior)..when that is complete I go back and add under household key whick already shows Jack Sample spouse name so it looks like this Jack & Jane Sample..that is all fine and good - I have do my data entry this way for years - but now under mailing name when printing labels it will only show Jack Sample...why is this ...it hasn't always done this...why doesn't mailing and household read each other.

The Mailing Name is name used on the Integrated Data or Mailing Label address area, NOT the household key.
The system defaults to Mr & Mrs Jack Smith as the name on the address form, unless you have that turned off.

However, this has changed somewhat in v11.5 (which I don't have access to as I'm in Montreat NC. right now). Are you using Powerchurch Online ??? I believe they have or are in the middle of updating PC Online to 11.5.

I have upgraded our PowerChurch to 11.5 and we are having problems printing labels in both names from the Family Mailing list. When we send out mass emails using the Family Mailing List function we try to print the lables for families that do not have email addresses, the labels are coming out in one name only. Yet, when we just tag a name using Family Mailing List and print one label it comes out in both names. Can you please tell me how I can print labels to families (both names) that do not have email addresses?

In Family Mailing List, it uses the "Mailing Name" field on the Family Mailing List record for the top line of the address label. If you want family labels to be addressed to John & Jane Smith, then that's what would need to be showing in the Mailing Name field on their Family Mailing List record.

I have checked our database and we do have both names in the mailing name field. Any other suggestions? This is only happening when we try to print labels from the mass email function. It works fine when we just print labels from the Family Mail List.

From what I was able to test here .. it does appear that the label name is being taken from the household key.

IMHO - this sounds like a bug that needs to be addressed. For now I would suggest that you use the labels as they are right now, until the fix is made in the program.

Yep, this has been written up as a bug. It should be using Nameline, not Household Key First Name & Last Name.
