I started using the PowerChurch Accounting module in January. I have reconciled the general account through April. While working on May's reconcilation I realized I missed clearing some checks that should have been marked "cleared." This means my account was not actually in balance, and I still have checking hanging out there that shouldn't be. Any advice on how to correct these issues?
Thanks,
Belle

Are the checks in the system ??
Have you been reconciling to 'zero' every month ??
When you enter the Reconcile module, are you selecting to include ALL DATA ??

Re: Missed Reconciling Checks
Hi NeilZ
Some answers to your questions.
1. Yes, the check are in the system. When I run the unreconciled report they are there. These checks have cleared the bank.
2. I have reconciled to zero each month, except for May. I am off and that's why I noticed these checks still hanging out there.
3. I do select 'All Data' when I go into to reconcile.
My experience with PowerChurch Accounting has not been pleasant or easy. I've been struggling for months. I really need to get the finances in order. There is a semi-annual meeting coming up and I need to be ready.
Thanks for any advice you may have.
Blessings,
Belle

Re: Missed Reconciling Checks
Just checking: Those checks have cleared the bank, and the amount you are off is not corrected when you 'check off' those checks ??mexicoumc wrote:Hi NeilZ

Re: Missed Reconciling Checks
The amount I am off to reconcile is $80.00. There are two checks one for $135.00 and one for $25.00.
Also, I just noticed a statement on the bottom of the April Reconcilation Report that says there is $50.00 outstanding from a 2011 transaction. I did not use PowerChurch in 2011.

Could it be that some entered an incorrect date on a check or transaction?mexicoumc wrote:The amount I am off to reconcile is $80.00. There are two checks one for $135.00 and one for $25.00.
