how to move $ from unrestricted to restricted

For our Benevolence fund I only have entered the contributions into 4030 unrestricted Tithes & Offerings as it is usually collected for a specific purpose and with in the same month it is used...
But now we collected for a specified cause and we have postponed doing the service for a couple months... I want to "dog ear" that money some how ... can i create a temp restricted (4210 emergancy shelter) and then transfer the $2038 out of the unrestricted? What do you recomend I do and what would my transaction look like?

To spend the money:
CR 01-1110-000 checking $500 (or any amount)
DB 01-5280-000 expense (closes to 01-3110-000 unrestricted) $500

DB 01-4810-000 shelter release $500
CR 01-4999-000 general release $500 (closes to 01-3110-000 unrestricted)

thank you for your help! i did what you said and just ran an Accnt Activity report...
Equity 32... Balance CR 2,038
Income 42....Balance CR 2,038
Income 40....Balance DB 2,038

total DB & CR DB 2,038 CR 4,076

Does this look right? I also ran a Balance Sheet and the Assets equals the Liability+Equity

Hmmm. Did you do a transaction with the equity account 32? There shouldn't be any activity there.

What was the other part of that transaction?

i ran an accnt activity report for 3220-000 this is what it says:
system generated | GE |30/06/2012 | total of accnts set to -close to this accnt | 6,038.00
