Acctg Funds and conversion from 8.5 to 11.5

I know there was a piece of paper in the 11.5 upgrade about how accounting fund numbers were being changed during the conversion process. Unfortunately, that piece of paper cannot be located. Can anyone give me a brief tutorial about how these numbers were converted, especially since they don't look anything like they used to? Thank you.
