We have a liablity account set up for our Health Reimbursement agreement plan. Each year the amount of the agreement changes so I need to enter a new beginning balance in the account. V9 will not allow me to change the beginning balance from the maintain chart of accounts option - how to I go about doing this.??
From an accounting standpoint, you can not just adjust liability balances on your trial balance. Liaiblity balances carrying over from period to period. If you are increasing the liability I would debit the expense and credit the liability. Then when you pay the liability, debit the liability and credit cash.
