Mailing Labels Comma between City and State

Post by Martha F »

When we try to print out mailing labels in Activities and Skills, the labels print without a comma between the city and state. Any way to fix this short of entering a comma in each person's address in Integrated Data Entry?
Thanks.

Actually, the US Postal Service's guidelines for mailing addresses recommends that punctutation NOT be used on addresses. If you go to the USPS zip code lookup page, and enter an address to get a Zip+4 code, you'll see the USPS preferred address format.

We send our database out to PowerChurch Software once a year (usually) to get the mailing list certified. When it returns, all punctuation is gone.

So an address entered like tis:

105 E. 32nd Street N.W.
Washington, D.C. 10001

Will be sent back in approved USPS format of

105 E 32ND ST NW
Washington DC 10001-1234

(just an example, not a real address AFAIK).
