Verify Backup Generates a Fatal Error in PowerChurch Plus 8


Some users have reported that when you verify a backup, a fatal error is generated and PowerChurch closes, and sometimes forces a restart of Windows. The exact error reported depends on your version of Windows, but will be similar to the following:

Fatal Error: Exception Code=C0000005
Called from - pcbackup line 0 {windowssystemvfp6r.dll}
Called from - pcmemhand line 0 {\windows\system\vfp6r.dll}
Called from - ON... line 0 {\windows\system\vfp6r.dll}
Called from - pc line 0 {\windows\system\vfp6r.dll}

To correct this problem, you will need to download a newer copy of the DynaZip library files (DLLs). Don't worry, we'll provide these for you. The link is below.

To install the DynaZip DLLs:

  1. Check the Program Date you are using. Go to Help, About PowerChurch Plus, and then select the System Information tab. If your Program Date is before 7/30/2002, you will need to download and install the latest Maintenance Release before installing the new DynaZip DLLs.
  2. Download the Updated DynaZip Files from the Downloads page and save it to your hard drive (save to disk) in an easy-to-access location, like your Desktop.
  3. Run (double-click) the file to install the new DynaZip DLLs. (NOTE: If you are on a network, this will need to be done on every workstation).
