contributions non deductible
Our church is buying t-shirts for members to wear at certain functions (mostly outreach) to get a bulk purchase price. Members are paying for their own shirts. They are writing checks to the church and the church is paying by credit card. What is the best way to enter these checks so they are not de...

employee pay items
For our budget of 2023 I made all the changes in budget for the year. I failed to make a change in employee pay items. I guess because the changes were made in the budget the pay amount on checks has been correct. I have made the change in employee pay items but I am wondering if this will affect W-...

Re: transfer to savings for a release acct
Thank you that worked. Now when I enter interest earned would I use the same transaction after posting the interest? I record interest as follows: 01-1211-001 debit $15.00 01-4510-000 credit $15.00 So then I think I should do the following to show the interest earned in the restricted acct. 01-3110-...

Re: transfer to savings for a release acct
This makes sense to me but we don't have a separate equity account for savings The only unrestricted account we have is
01-3110-000. Can I use that account? Should I set up an equity account for savings? If so how do I do that?
Thanks,
Sandy

Re: transfer to savings for a release acct
I understand the whole release process. the asset restoration fund is automatically restricted by the way it is funded in the contributions fund. It receives 1% of tithes and offerings. We transfer those funds monthly to our savings account. But we also transferred a large sum of money from our gene...

transfer to savings for a release acct
We have an account set up to save funds for major asset restoration. That fund receives a certain amount from our tithes and offerings. It is a restricted account and I transfer the funds to savings at the end of each month. It is set up in the contributions module. The problem I am having is that a...

how to correct automatic transfer in contributions
We use automatic transfer to set aside money that our church tithes on from our general offering. These are percentages of the general offering. I just discovered that one of the transfers for our outreach program has been doubling due to operator error ( there were 2 accts set up in contributions f...

Re: budgeting for savings
Contributions are going to a general offering (4030) and when posted go to a temporarily restricted income acct. (4212) The tithe part is 1% of regular offerings. Donations go directly to the restricted acct. Both income accts debit the checking acct. I'm not sure how to set up to automatically post...

Re: budgeting for savings
I think the true question is more about how to handle this account. I show this account on the Cash Management Report each month and it also shows in the Savings account which is also on the cash management report. I am transferring the tithe each month to savings but it can be a bit confusing. I wo...

Re: reusing old acct numbers
Ok I have another question. Well actually a few.... #1 After I have moved the accts to the 8900 level, do I need to just delete the old accts? I do want to reuse those numbers but I'm not sure what is the best way to go about it. #2 How can I handle (remove) old Equity, income, temp restricted and t...

principal reduction fund
We have set up a principal reduction fund so that members can make a contribution to help pay down our mortgage. This fund is basically a pass thru fund in that we will make a principal only payment at the end of each month with any donations to the fund that come in. This is in addition to our regu...

reusing old acct numbers
We have some old accounts that have not been used for 4 years. They are inactive. I would like to reactivate them as new accounts just because I would like to keep the account numbers sequential. The old information is no longer needed. Is there a problem with doing this or any special way I should ...
