Why do transactions entered for the next month show up in the bank recon even though I submit the month ending date. This throws me off every time.

I have posted one of my payrolls as well as some other transactions to the wrong month. What is the best way to correct this?

Is there anyway to name the backup file to reflect the date the backup is being done.
