Fund Transfers
I am not so pleased with my understanding and use of fund transfers. I have set up all of the transfer accounts and I think I know how to use them. However, I feel that the transfers distort/confuse the bottom numbers on the income and expense statement. For example purposes let's say that all trans...

grind and grind
Jeff and Neil - thanks for your responses. Couple of questions. If you close the report, but don't close PC+, and run the report again, is it still slow? The first time you run a report several additional DLLs have to be loaded into memory and this could be the problem. By chance are you getting a m...

accounting reports grind and grind and grind
Our church has been using PC9 since January and we are only using the accounting module. Our volume of entries is very low. Recently, the balance sheet and income and expense statement have started to become slow to display on the screen. They grind and grind and grind and after several minutes appe...

FTP backup
Our church is on PC9+. I want to do an FTP backup (in addition to CD backups) however I do not want to backup the entire directory. I can backup the DATA folder which only takes a minute or two. However, in researching this forum I saw a posts where it said that not all data files are in the data fo...

mortgage question
I have question on how to set up a mortgage. Our church is going from a manual system to PC9+. So our mortgage has been around a long time and the principal is only 40K. I know that I set up on the credit side a mortgage liability of 40K. Do I setup a land and buildings debit of 40K? Or do I make th...

wonder if these checks will work?
Our former treasurer had planned to computerize the accounting using quick books and accordingly ordered checks. The computerization never happened and now I have 500 checks. The checks are 8 1/2 x 11 - top check with two stubs below. Each section is 3 1/2 inches with a 1/2 inch strip at the very bo...

Two questions on maintenance releases
I just installed PC9+ several days ago and have the accounting up and running but I have two questions regarding maintenance releases: 1) Did my program CD coming with the latest updates? 2) Help-about says program date of 11/11/05 and MDAC version 2.81.1117.0 . What does this relate to? Thanks Char...

Just finished accounting setup
I just finished accounting setup. Unfortunately, even though I checked things twice, I have a wrong balance on the checking account.
Since I have finished the setup - is the only way to correct that balance is via journal entries?

Special Offering Primer
I need someone to tiptoe me through the T-accounts with special offerings. Say for example you have a special offering for Hurricane Katrina relief. You collect $1,000 and plan to cut a check in two weeks. Please show me all of the transactions through mailing of the check. Thanks! Charlie Masquerad...
