Re: Found a VERY unexpected solution...
In defense of the tech support guy ... he has a point. They can't be expected to support every configuration that could possibly be put together in the computing world. Even Microsoft has said that on occasions when I asked about networking Win2k/XP, Macs and an OS/2 box .. their reply .. why would...

Found a VERY unexpected solution...
Remember - I mapped the "a" drive of the client to "z" on the host. Why did I pick "z"? No reason in particular. Thinking that perhaps PCP didn't like the "z" designation, and noticing that the host machine didn't even have an "a" drive, I mapped the "a" drive on the client to the "a" drive on the h...

Re: Backup Error via WinXP Remote Access
We have mapped the "a" drive on an end user's PC and named it drive Z on the host. We can restore data to the host from that drive, but we cannot backup data from the host to the remote drive. We get an error that says, "Target Media is NON-Removable and can not be used for a Multi-Volume Operation...

"Target Media is NON-Removable and can not be used...&q
It's a mapped "a" drive! A 2.5" diskette! Why can we restore from it, but not back up to it?

Re: Restricting access to contributor records...
FWIW If that elder has nothing to do with the contributions area, and he's just sticking his nose in, just tell him it has already been taken care of, and square it with the two elders who do the contributions and the deacons. :P I don't get upset. I think he's just concerned about privacy. I did, ...

Restricting access to contributor records...
Now that I have PCP9 all set up and running on a remote server - wouldn't ya know it - one more request <sigh>. We have one elder who wishes to restrict access to just some records. In other words, we have deacons who deal with the bank stuff, we have two elders who keep track of individual giving. ...

Printing from PCP via Remote Desktop and Multiple OSes
One last question... I have 4 users, all accessing PCP via remote desktop, hosted by a machine running WinXP Pro. One of the users has WinME, the other one Win98. When they try to print from their local machines from the host, they can't. The only thing I can think of is it's because they are on dif...

Multiple Users and Windows XP Pro
I installed PCP on Windows XP Pro on a "server", then set up users who will connect via Remote Desktop. We have several people who wish to work on the program or view the data, and this seemed to be the best solution. Problem is, it is FLAKY. My users, even when set up as super users, cannot use the...

Re: Restoring data from a drive other than "A"
FWIW ... I do this all the time with GoToMyPC and don't have a problem, as long as PC+ can see a mapped networked drive it should be able to read from it. OK - it may be another issue. I mapped the drive, then tried to access the drive from a client PC running XP - and it said it couldn't find a ba...

I tried that, and it does not work.NeilZ wrote:If you have a mapped network drive letter appearing, then what I would do is copy the backup file to the networked drive, then open PC+ to restore from that mapped drive.

Restoring data from a drive other than "A"
I am using PCP9 over a Remote Desktop in Windows XP Pro. I am attempting to restore data from a CD on my client PC. The program does not give me the option of browsing for any other drives. How can I remedy this?
