Accounting for complete refund
So how does one credit an expense account? In our case, we paid a vendor a monthly fee,and it was recorded in the expense account. We cancelled the account before the end of a month. We received a refund of $65.00. How do I credit the expenses account for the $65.00 check we received?

Working Month
I am unable to change my working month to July 2013 in Fund Accounting. It only gives me the option through June. Any ideas why, or how to change that? I was able to post accounting, payroll and contributions to July, but they do not show up on reports. I am guessing that it is because of not being ...

Re: how to set a loan to staff
I like the idea of creating a negative liability account to track a loan we gave an employee. I have started using PowerChurch this year, but haven't yet added this loan to the accounting, instead tracking it separately until I figured out how to do it in PowerChurch. Re: Accounting for restricted fund spending
I understand your choir robe example. However, if you spend $1200 dollars, with $1000 being restricted income that was released, will a report tracking how we are doing with our budget show the net $200 being out of our budgeted expenses or the entire $1200, making it look like we went $1000 over bu...

Accounting for restricted fund spending
When we use restricted funds for a budget item, using the process shown in the choir robe example, how does the report show this activity? Does the spending and offsetting income reflect in the activity, but the bottom line show just what was spent from general funds? When there is restricted funds ...

I'd love to interact with one or more experienced users in my area, Portland, Oregon. Anyone willing to mentor a new user of Powerchurch?

Changing group account to detail account
I finished the set up - so I thought - and then realized that some expenses accounts were "group" that should be "detail". Is there a way to change them?
