Posted Account Entry
Hi We already closed out last year and do not have access to 2012 posted transactions. This being said, we found an entry in bank reconciliation that was entered incorrectly. There was a debit Fund Accounting posting of $24,066.55 Dec. 2012 that should have been $24,006.55. Last year was closed alre...

Do I delete the reverse transaction or post it as a reverse? (see below) El Bethel Office wrote:Additional question When a contribution check bounces with our bank account, are we suppose to delete the entry or are we suppose to reverse and save it as a negative value. ex: 150 entry bounces reverse ...

Re: Bounced Checks
Thank you very much. Unfortuately, we did not keep up with bank reconciliation and our numbers seemed to have been getting worse over a period of time and now we realize why that is the case. We have a project to go back and clean up everything that had been neglected. The problem now is that we alr...

Re: Bounced Checks
Additional question When a contribution check bounces with our bank account, are we suppose to delete the entry or are we suppose to reverse and save it as a negative value. ex: 150 entry bounces reverse to -150. I might be way off on that idea, but wanted to clarify before I make more mistakes. Tha...

Thank you
If you neglect to reconcile bank accounts in the database, how does this affect the overall account integrity? Will account balances fail to be accurate? Will reports fail to be accurate?

Bounced Checks
Hi Our church is trying to become more efficient in managing the database. Unfortunately, we never reconciled the bank account records in the database, but we are trying to learn the process presently. When we come across returned checks on our bank account that have been posted in the Contributions...

Accounting Reports
Hi Our church recently started up a new database to start fresh with cleaner data, but once we started to pull reports we noticed that none of the expenses over the course of the last month and half or transfers conducted are showing up in the reports. Can you please lend assistance as to why this m...

Re: Accounting Records
Maybe I am not understanding based on what you replied, but will this cause a conflict against the original entry of Fixed Assets (Land and Building); causing a doubling of the amounts?

Accounting Records
We recently started a new database with fresh numbers, but when we entered Fixed Assets - Land and Building worth it coupled with the General Fund we have set up. The General Fund represents the Primary Checking account, so when we pull a Accounting Fund Balance report, it shows the General Fund amo...

We just finished the Accounting set up process, but forgot to eliminate for contribution funds we no longer need. When we go to delete the funds, the database says we cannot delete because data exists for the fund we are trying to delete. The problem is that not data exists because we just started t...

Re: Accessing backup files
Tom Thank you for your reply. Actually, we already backup our files once a month to a flash drive, because we send the files to an accounting company that does our bookkeeping professionally. Our data has become out of balance over time and we desired to then clean up by starting from proper numbers...

Accessing backup files
How church office decided to "clean" our records by starting from scratch and restart the accounting process; we have v11.5. Before we move forward to start fresh January 2013, we have one problem that we need to clarify before moving forward. How would we access the backup files, if we needed to co...
