Accounting for an Interest Free Loan
John can you walk me through how to set this up? We just had someone give us an interest free loan for some repairs and I'm at a loss for how to account for it in PowerChurch. My first thought was just to put it in as a liability but that doesn't seem right. I kind of need a step by step if possible...

Contribution Fund had wrong Debit (Bank) Fund
Hello, Pulled another dumb move and wasn't paying attention when I created this contribution fund 321. I set the Bank Fund to 01-1110-000 (Should have been 03-1110-000) And the Credit Fund to 03-2351-000 (Liability Account) I didn't catch it before I wrote the check and wrote the check to come out o...

Correct a voided check from prior year
Hello Everyone, So I noticed that my State Taxes account was exactly one months worth of payments off. Turns out I still had an unreconciled check from 2013 in there. It was a duplicate because my 2013 balanced 100%. So I voided the check but it won't post to Fund Accounting because it's in a month ...

Re: Reporting on Taxes
Ok hopefully this will be the last one on this. My taxes are in liability accounts of course. We didn't start using PC until 01/01/2013. So of course PC doesn't have any money in the liability account for December '12 taxes. How do I go about paying the taxes out of those liability accounts, so they...

Reporting on Taxes
We pay our payroll taxes on the 15th of every month for the month prior. So in January we're actually paying December's taxes. My question is how should I record and report this? Would I date it in January but post it to December so I'm accurately reporting to the congregation what the taxes were fo...

Re: Voided and re-written check now negative Checking balanc
I'm so sorry I didn't get back sooner, my normal job has been keeping me extremely busy and I didn't get an email that you had replied. I got a moment to call support today and she showed me the Trial Balance report and I that showed me how far off I was. So here's what I found out. I had several of...

Re: Adding payroll checks from before setup
Ok in auditing my accounts I found a problem I think. I noticed that I have check #11527 01/06/2013 January check #11527 02/03/2013 January check #11527-VOID 02/03/2013 February This would double the amounts for January and be negative in February on my reports correct? How should I go about fixing ...

Voided and re-written check now negative Checking balance
Setup Fund 01 - General Church Fund Fund 02 - Children's Fund Fund 03 - Youth Fund Not all the money came in for camp registrations from fund 02 so we we decided to pay for the remaining balance out of the General Benevolence account in Fund 01 even though we had already written the check. The Kids ...

Social Security and Medicare Wrong Account
Hey Guys, I just ran a report and realized that our Social Security and Medicare have been going to the Federal Witholding liability account, but I paid out of the correct accounts giving them a negative liability. What's the best way to correct this so everything looks like it's posted correctly fr...

Re: Overspend a Liability Account
Sorry I didn't get back sooner, the power has been out due to snow and for some reason I didn't get an email that there was a response.
Yes you understood it correctly and using the sub accounts on the expense and liability accounts makes sense.
Thanks,
Luke

Overspend a Liability Account
I've got a liability account setup for missions. Not enough money comes in every month for our commitments so we pay the balance out of the general fund. If I were to pay the whole amount out of the liability account each month would this balance out or would it mess my books all up? I'd like to be ...
