Tracking donations for missionaries
This topic has been discussed in the general forum. See http://powerchurch.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1527 While you can't give tax receipts for personal gifts, the IRS does permit tracking gifts for the ministry support of missionaries and short term volunteers. See the excellant explanation from th...

Re: Missions Team Accounts (updated)
However, I would visit Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability and read the article Fund-Raising -- Tax-Deductible Gifts for a Named Recipient's Personal Benefit. www.ECFA.org Hope this helps! As a current and former employee of ECFA charter member organizations, I want to point out that b...

PDF version?
Todd, Have you upgraded the Acrobat Reader on the PC you use to open the emails? Is it a newer version than the one you run on the PC with PC+? I've run into some similar problems trying to open PDF files created by other (non-Adobe) applications, where older versions of Acrobat Reader could open ex...

Re: New to PC; can I put data on another computer
Is this permitted under terms of the "single site" license? The license agreement appears to say that installing the program on a computer at someone's home is prohibited. Or does it also include copies at the homes of any church staff? New treasurer at church. Put in all family data, personal files...

Perhaps, but I think that when I tried that if failed, probably due to problems reading the CD. I eventually found an older 32x CD-ROM drive would read the install disc successfully and made a copy from that to install on the new PCs with DVD/CD combo drives as described. Maybe next week when I go b...

Success in runing PC+9 from SnapServer!
Hello, I promised to post the results of trying to run PC+9 on a NAS file server (adaptec Snap Server 1100) . After some trial and error, I finally have it installed and so far it seems to run fine, although we are just now starting to configure and do data entry. Here is what I had to do: = = = = =...

Re: Incompatible with network servers
Thanks to all who have responded. The "security" issues are that we don't want the Treasurer to have to go to the Pastor's office and boot up his PC (which requires logging in) every time he wants to update financial records, or vice versa. And our peer-peer windows network will NOT recognize a driv...

Incompatible with network servers
Thanks Neil. I was afraid of that. We don't want to leave the Pastor or Treasurer PCs running all the time due to security issues and also frequent power outages which force reboot. When our pastor ordered the program, he was told it could access data on a network server, but apparently what they re...

Are Inkjet/BubbleJet printers acceptable for check printing?
Sandra's question raises an issue about the type of printer to buy for check printing. Our treasurer was told by the local bank the inkjet printers can't be used to print checks because the ink is moisture sensitive and "bleeds" too much making the characters unreadable by bank automatic processing ...

Re: IRS rules
Jackie, while I am not a tax expert, I disagree with the response from NeilZ. As a former missionary, I know that mission organizations routinely set up support accounts for specific missionaries and track (tax deductible) donations and ministry-related expenses for them. I think the key is that the...

NAS (ie., SnapServer) supported?
Does anyone have any experience with NAS (Network Attached Storage) devices and PCP9? We have a small network of 4 WinXP PCs connected to a SnapServer. The PCs are not normally left running when staff members are out of their offices, but the SnapServer is always on with a small battery backup. Can ...
