Re: Using Gift Cards for Budget Purchases
Neil, Thank you for responding to my query. I’m not sure that I understand your reply or maybe I didn’t make the situation clear, so please bear with me while I try again. When our preschool first purchases a 100.00 gift card for $95.00, they are not actually spending any money. They are exchanging...

Using Gift Cards for Budget Purchases
Our Church Preschool has initiated a fundraising campaign through RaiseRight which is basically gift card or script fundraising. Participants purchase a name brand gift card for face value through their RaiseRight account and the preschool receives a percentage of their purchases from the vendor. Th...

PC+ Ver 14 Install on New Computer
I have purchased the Ver 14 upgrade and want to install on a new computer. Will Ver 14 restore the existing Ver 12.2 backup file from the old computer or do need to go through the upgrade to Ver 14 process on the old computer first and then backup and restore? I was hoping that I could leave Ver 12....

Re: Creating a Fund for pass through expenses
I realize that I am late responding to this thread but I came across it while looking for ideas on how to manage the expenses for our youth camps and mission trips and the suggestion of using one or more Liability Accounts along with the Designated Contributions sounds like just what I am looking f...

Re: Creating a Fund for pass through expenses
To clarify. These types of scenarios I am speaking about would not qualify for a tax receipt. It is simply an event the church supports but those attending are asked to pay their own way. So it is not a budgeted item on the church books, therefore this is why I'd prefer to not have it on the income...

Re: Setting Up Multiple Accounting Funds
Thanks for clearing those things up for me. I think I have all of the Accounting Funds set up the way they need to be. I am ready to take the plunge with getting beginning balances, accounting, and contribution data entered. (We have decided to input all YTD data for 2020). So, since the program tr...

Re: Setting Up Multiple Accounting Funds
Neil, I guess I really did miss something. I assumed that the core four digits of the account number could only be used once, partially to allow the use of asset accounts across Accounting Funds and also to allow the merging of Accounting Funds. So, I can have detail income accounts of 01-4111-000 ...

Re: Setting Up Multiple Accounting Funds
Its a good idea to keep the Unrestricted Net Assets account number across any other funds being used as its the default, and frankly, the system keeps all the data separate. You can change it, but there's really no need. I However, other temp restricted funds need not be shared across those funds. ...

Re: Setting Up Multiple Accounting Funds
Our church has decided to make the move from our existing software to PowerChurch V12.2, and are setting up multiple Accounting Funds. I understand the requirement to link the shared asset accounts (Checking, Savings, etc.) across the funds by using the same account number in each fund. But, are th...

Re: Custom Date Ranges
My question too. I get asked by the pastor for previous ytd to compare with current ytd, for eg. jan-jun 12 2018 to compare jan-jun 2019. For example in the summer months, maybe income is dropping off and the trend is needed to anticipate where it is heading before the month's up, maybe to put a pl...

Re: Custom Date Ranges
Custom Reports in Fund Accounting only give access to month/year balances and budgets. It doesn't report on individual transactions and therefore doesn't allow you to query against transaction dates. What is the rationale for limiting reports this way? We routinely have requirements to provide fina...
