Re: Disappearing data since switching to online Powerchurch
Thanks for the reminder about the free phone support, Neil. I didn't actually realize that, I guess!

Re: Disappearing data since switching to online Powerchurch
Thanks -- but impossible. We don't have Powerchurch installed on a desktop anymore, not anywhere. The desktop died and and we resurrected a backup to send to you to get started on PC Online. Our new desktop is a Mac that has never "met" Powerchurch. It is not installed anywhere else. So there is no ...

Disappearing data since switching to online Powerchurch
I have had an odd series of problems since our recent switch to Powerchurch online. 1. Payroll checks missing from system after printing: I was told by Neil on this board that it must be because I closed the program before hitting "No" on the "Do you need to reprint any checks?" screen -- even thoug...

Re: Lost payroll data
Thank you so much, Neil! I hadn't had time to recreate yet, and I suspect I would not have easily seen how I should do it. You're the best!

Re: Lost payroll data
I just found this thread in searching for an answer to this exact situation. The payroll checks I created last Friday have disappeared -- are not in unposted payroll and have not been posted to Fund Accounting. They are nowhere to be found, just as in this thread. Regarding the answer that was propo...

Re: Year end transfer transactions
Several aspects to this so I am going to have to finish answering tomorrow. But I thank you so much for your understanding of what I'm trying to ask! My first question is, wouldn't a transaction with a debit in fund 01 and a credit in fund 02 leave both funds out of balance? Also, I can see in the i...

Year end transfer transactions
Hello. I have some oddball balances in our passthrough funds for committees that the treasurer and I want to zero out. Facilities Fund Balance: ($34) I have transfer accounts set up between Fund 01-Operating and Fund 02-Designated/Passthrough. Here's what I would like to do: Fund 01-Operating: DB Tr...

Fiscal year to date as option in reports?
I can't believe how many times I have had to enter "July 1 2016 to date" in various ways during this season of budgeting and tons of meetings and reporting. All reports seem to either default to a year ago, or to the calendar year to date, or offer every option under then sun *except" fiscal year to...

Re: reusing old acct numbers
Wow, reindexing was a new thing for me! Have never done it. Will do it now regularly. However, it didn't help. Nothing helped until I realized I needed to delete the old account number. Like, when I moved/renumbered 5027 to new account 8027, it takes all the data, but you still need to delete the no...

Re: reusing old acct numbers
I'm a different Sandy and reviving this question because I am having a different result. I moved an account -- renumbered it -- from 5027 to a newly created 8027 (reorganizing COA). I see it in the new spot. I can charge expenses to it...it exists. When I print the COA, it shows only the new number ...

Payroll: Post to FA after posting to Payroll module only
I guess my subject line says it all. I posted a single transaction to payroll only but really want to post it to Fund Accounting. Does that transaction reside in some secret place in Payroll where I can access it and post it to Fund Accounting, or do I now have to do a journal entry? Thank you in ad...

Re: Pledge Statement - are there options?
Ohhhh...I see. Thank you. This is a very non-intuitive form to read if you are just skimming it. Our treasurer has been using it wrong -- putting in the whole fiscal year for the date of the statement, instead of the quarter, so I've been carrying this assumption that it just gave the same info twic...

Re: Pledge Statement - are there options?
Oh, Neil, what would we do without you?! My rendering of what was on the form wasn't very accurate! Here's a link to the image: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-PUEwfWqsXYVThUWXVReTZpOVk/view?usp=sharing I'm setting it up with a custom date range of the fiscal year 07/01/2016 to end of this quarte...

Pledge Statement - are there options?
Hello! I'm writing to ask about the Pledge Statement, which is confusing to some of our elderly members because it gives the same information twice. Is it absolutely necessary to show both sets of data, the set in the second column and the set in the third column? The second column (or rather, set o...

Re: Where to view which accounts close to a fund balance acc
Well, I see why I couldn't find that with the cryptic name -- who would think that "close to" report was a report for "close to" information?
It's definitely Monday morning.
Thanks as always, Neil. You're a treasure.
