Re: Weird situation - person mistakenly used church debit ca
Did what you said. Now, when I am reconciling the checking account there is a $300 entry in "Deposits and Other Additions" as well as the $300 debit card transaction in "Checks and Other Subtractions." I used the same Expense account for both transactions. I followed your instruction: "Showing the r...

Weird situation - person mistakenly used church debit card
and made a purchase for $300. The Debit Card transaction immediately hits the bank. She let me know what she did, and gave me a check for $300 to cover it.I have not made any entry yet in PC for either transaction. I would imagine I should Debit the Checking Account for $300 by entering a transactio...

Setting up tasks for committee members
We have a committee and want to assign tasks to the members, and want to track completion of those tasks. We want this to be visible only to the committee members. Is there a way to do this efficiently? I have created an Activity for the committee, and added the members. I would like to have this op...

Payroll done by accounting firm - I am tracking in PC
We have an accounting firm that processes our payroll and pays the taxes to both state and federal. We only have three employees, and the accounting firm debits the church’s checking account for the total of their salaries and direct deposits their biweekly salaries into their checking accounts. Las...

Re: Fund raiser and contributions disconnect
This is the first time something like this has happened, and all the work required to make the books balance was an unneeded headache. (but I did learn from it) I am going to make sure that the folks know for future reference how to address contributions. It would have been easier to have her pay up...

Fund raiser and contributions disconnect
Probably an easy fix - but... We just had a spaghetti dinner fund raiser for the Youth to raise money for tuition for their Winter Retreat.(all in Youth Fund) I was given the contribution envelope - $700 in cash. The person running the dinner was given $40 and $20 by two folks, and told her to use i...

Re: Still sorting out a mess - fund question
Thanks much - I paid out of my own pocket, so I wouldn't cost the church for my learning curve - a $1000 mistake. If I needed an adventure
- then I did get what I paid for. This was a complete nightmare - oh well.I have learned so much on this forum. Thanks again.
