2024 general instructions for forms w-2 and w-3
Curious to know if most of you have decided to process w-2 and w-3's with the old 2023 instructions or if you are waiting for the updated 2024? If you go to the IRS website and look at the current instructions, it is 2023. If you do a search for the 2024 instructions, it is still in DRAFT format and...

Check/Envelope Alignment
We have new checks and envelopes that we ordered for the first time from Dynamic Systems as recommended by PowerChurch. Is there a way to manually or adjust the characters down like you are able to with W-2's and 1099's? The check value is showing in the top window and the addressee is not all showi...

Re: Payroll Service for extended vacation or hit by bus
I am the only employee trained to use PowerChurch. My boss, one of our pastors, approves the payroll. Otherwise, they have VERY little knowledge of PowerChurch. Payroll is processed through PowerChurch and then I upload it to our bank and handle everything else. Tough to take more than a week off as...

Payroll Service for extended vacation or hit by bus
Hello all, We are trying to get a plan together on the off chance that I am hit by a bus, taken ill or would like to take an extended vacation and miss a payroll week. Preference to the latter! We are currently planning to reach out to our local accountants office that has helped us in the past to s...

Re: Best and easiest transaction for correcting Credit Card
Okay, I ran the Account Activity report and it is the subtotals for each fund that is the breakout for the payment? I appreciate all of the help with this new process for me!

Re: Best and easiest transaction for correcting Credit Card
Yes, everything balanced down to zero. How do I determine the breakout amounts for each fund though with my credit card payment?

Re: Best and easiest transaction for correcting Credit Card
I was able to reconcile the credit card and balance it! Yay!! Question though - there are items posted that did not clear within the dates of the statement. So, when I run a Selected Transaction report for the dates of the credit card statement to determine which funds need to be debited and credite...

Re: Best and easiest transaction for correcting Credit Card
Ah ha! That makes sense and makes it easier to track everything and why you suggested inputting as I receive them. Again, this is not how I was trained so I need to retrain my brain to this method. Hmmm...with it being the last day of the month and the Credit Card is due today, I am going to have to...

Re: Best and easiest transaction for correcting Credit Card
Thank you! This has been very helpful. Another question, when you are booking the manual check to the liability account for credit card expenses purchased, do you pay to the order of BOA-CC in your case or USBank for ours? Or did you set up another similar vendor name for all of those transactions t...

Re: Best and easiest transaction for correcting Credit Card
How does this work when you have expenses in other fund? Do you post all to the general fund CC liability line and have to make a bunch of transfers? Thanks again for your wisdom!

Re: Best and easiest transaction for correcting Credit Card
We do not have a liability account for the credit card and that was not the way I was taught by the previous bookkeepers. Sounds like that may make my life easier and I can add a liability account though. This does leave me with more questions but let me answer your others first. The staff turn in a...

Best and easiest transaction for correcting Credit Card
We pay our full monthly balance each month online through the bank for our credit card and multiple staff have cards. I currently have it set up as a manual repeating check in AP. With so many staff having cards, it is typically 2 1/2 pages of transactions. What is the best and easiest way t...

Re: Booking electronic payments
Thank you for your response back and I am sorry I never said that sooner. Year end, Christmas, first time being sick with covid and the new year payroll changes got the best of me. Do you set up your regular EFT payments as "Repeating Items" to speed up the manual check process with all of the line ...
