Re: Cares Act PPP Loan
Also, the board president told me that any of this loan money spent on utilities was also forgivable. Does anyone know if this is accurate? I am going to talk to the banker on Monday. Yes, that and rent or mortgage interest are forgivable - with a caveat. At least 75% of the PPP loan amount must be...

Re: Considering using Vanco for EContributions
I'm sure it does. It looks like after you set it up in PC all you do is select the "Import from Vanco" option under Contributions and contributions transfer directly from Vanco to PC. For SecureGive (and probably the others) there is one additional step added - an export from the eGiving app and the...

Re: Considering using Vanco for EContributions
Given the country-wide restrictions imposed due to COVID-19, our church is considering implementing online giving using VANCO. I spoke with a PC tech just now who said that VANCO is the only online giving software package that PC integrates with directly. It sounds like if we insure our fund #'s li...

Re: Microsoft Office
My church goes through Techsoup for non-profit tech discounts. Currently we get MS email for free (up to 300 email accounts). Office 365 for $3/seat/month. Each seat (person) can install the MS Office 365 suite on up to five devices - work computer, phone, laptop, etc. Online storage through OneDriv...

Re: email server error
Good suggestions from Neilz. In a year's time your email service provider may have changed server names and/or outgoing sockets or security type. If Neilz's suggestion don't resolve the problem, you may need to contact your email service provider for the correct information. Also, double check that ...

Re: Emailing contribution statements to all donors
If this is your first time bulk emailing statements, here's a suggestion. Many email service providers may look at mass emails from a single account as SPAM. The way to get around that is to throttle the amount of emails you send out. Under Files>preferences>System Setup Options>Email check the "Use...

FWIW, one of our Mac users upgraded last evening and now multiple apps - including the IDS Client - will not work.

Why not use Contributions>Reassign>Reassign Envelope Number? That will merge the two histories.

Another alternative for the same report:
Membership>Membership Reports>Selected Records. Then enter the Dates Registered From that you need.

Re: ACH and other Electronic Payments to Vendors
We have been using more ACH and Credit Card (for points) payments than checks lately. For our bank, ACH payments have a bank generated unique tracking/payment number. We use that as the check number. It also corresponds with what gets listed on the monthly bank statement which makes reconciliation m...

Re: Transferring monies from one acct to another
As long as all the accounts involved are in the same accounting fund (in this case, Fund 01 in Neilz's example) that's exactly how I would do it, too. If it involves movement between accounting funds - between a fund 01 to a fund 02 for example - you'll have to use some transfer accounts in order to...
