Is reindexing always safe?

We have several people using PowerChurch Online ver 11.55. I know I can't restore without first making sure that all other users are off.
But is it safe to reindex when other users are also using PowerChurch Online? Is there any chance that their work will be lost or corrupted?

showing one person twice in the directory

We have a situation where a separated couple both want to list their daughter with themselves in our Directory. I am doing this by entering the daughter as two different people with the same name, one in the family of each parent. Is there a better way to do this?

Our church has a member who requires extreme privacy. She doesn't want to be listed in our Directory. How can we handle this?
