Re: Petty Cash Questions
Thanks for your speedy reply Neil. Apologies about adding to an old thread. It seemed related so I just carried on. I may not have explained very clearly... I had read the couple threads you included above and thought I'd understood but obviously not. I think I have two problems: 1) How to record th...

Petty Cash Questions
Which of the following is correct? Or if neither, then what's better? I have some cash which is used as petty cash (someone accumulated about $80 and has a paper ledger of the transactions). I want to include this into our accounting. I was thinking to do the following: 1) Created an asset account 0...

Re: Combining Donor Restricted Funds
Ah... less complicated than I thought. I didn't think to do a GE from one equity account to another. >>Then, go to the Maintain List of Donor Restrictions then delete the restriction. You can then go to the related income and expense accounts, >>and inactivate them. Finally, inactivate the fund bala...

Combining Donor Restricted Funds
Happy new year everyone! So, I have a couple donor restricted funds, one of which has not been used for a couple years and in fact the purpose of the fund is no longer. We used to collect money for a "International Coffee Ministry"', but the ministry has discontinued, and there's about $200 balance....

Re: First Time Payroll Set Up
Sorry, I had already posted the transactions in Fund accounting so I reversed the Fund Accounting entry even though it said it wouldn't affect the Payroll Module. That gave me the 21000-REVERSE entry. I did not reverse anything in Payroll. So then technically, I would just have to do what you instru...

Re: First Time Payroll Set Up
I have a similar problem and want to make sure this will work: We collected monies for Pastor Appreciation month and I paid the pastor via Payroll. I posted to fund accounting and posted in fund accounting before realizing that I did not release from restrictions. I reversed the transaction in fund ...

Re: Electronic Giving Options
We are trying to figure out what's best for online giving for the first time... Does anyone use or has tried Tithe.ly? If so, what was your experience with it interfacing with PowerChurch? We have less than 30 donors each week so manual entry would not be a problem but using a CSV file may or may no...

Re: Loose Cash Envelope Number Issue
oops I misread ... ok so I can change the envelope number to ZERO, and then reassign the envelope number to 999. That would keep my giving history for 'offering cash' and free up 99999 to be used as it should be.... is that right? I'll try that and see how that works.

Re: Loose Cash Envelope Number Issue
If I set 99999 to ZERO, wouldn't that mess up my contribution amounts/contribution fund reports? I thought I needed to keep at least four years' contributions info? Or since it's just loose cash and not a person, it doesn't mater? How would I have a trace of amount of cash collected from the offerin...

Loose Cash Envelope Number Issue
Hello All: It's been about an year now since I took over as bookkeeper at our church and I am slowly identifying flaws in how things were set up, and trying to remedy them. Here's one of them: Somehow (since January 2010) the secretary was able to set up 99999 as a Cash and Coin profile envelope num...

Re: Edit posted contributions
I have a similar situation - in May I added and posted contribution to incorrect contribution fund, but contributor is correct. So I would reverse that contribution and enter a new contribution with correct fund. My question is: the incorrect contribution was done in May, and it’s now September - do...

Re: Direct Deposit Service Provider
I was actually wanting to know about using the company ACH Solutions for our direct deposit. We write six checks a month for payroll so $25/mo is not financially feasible right now... I read earlier that ACH Solutions may be cheaper... just wanted to know how well it worked.

Re: Direct Deposit Service Provider
I am curious as to whether the ACH Solutions option is working for Payroll or not? i.e. Did you ever get paid?
It seems this would be a cheaper way to set up direct debit payments. it may even be a future option for electronic offering collection...

Re: Account Payable Posted incorrectly
I've just found that in the Accounting Setup Options the "donor Restricted Release Accounts" check box was NOT selected.... THAT's probably why I haven't been seeing the "release from restricted funds" button on the maintain open invoices & transaction screens... I'm wondering IF I now go and select...
