A member gave the church a 2020 Church Van - brand new.
I have not run into a gift like this before and am not sure how to handle the accounting. This is a balance sheet item but how do I get it into a contribution statement? No cash was involved

an additional question - if the pastor has no taxable income and this gift is taxable would it not be easier to set up the gift amount as payroll that would go into Box 1 on the W2 with no tax taken out.

Our church does not have any 'employees'. The Pastor get a housing allowance and that is reported on a W2. Now the church wants to give the pastor a LARGE gift . This will be taxable. Does Power Church utilize 'Effective Date Processing"? Example I need to make some changes to the COA for the beginning of my budget year. If I make the changes using the beginning of year date will they not be effective until that date or will they take effect immediately? I am running Power Church...
