Re: contribution statements missing fund types
As far as I know nothing has changed since last year, and I was able to print tax receipts last year with no issues. I was told that the software was updated in Dec, not sure if that would affect it.

contribution statements missing fund types
Hi,
we are trying to print tax receipts but the fund types are missing under the contributions to include. The only thing that shows up is <None> with a check mark to select/unselect.

Re: proper use of transfer accounts and restricted funds
Come to think of it, the fact that Fund 02 exists has actually caused a lot of problems in the past because transfer accounts weren't used/setup, and transactions weren't input properly. Would it be a good idea if I were to move everything into fund 01? Would I be forced to use donor restrictions an...

Re: proper use of transfer accounts and restricted funds
If by using temp restricted accounts, you mean we use release accounts, then no. Fund 02 has pretty much been used to keep designated funds separate from operating funds.
Fund 02 includes all of our designated funds, including building, missions, short term missions, etc.

proper use of transfer accounts and restricted funds
I have finally figured out how to use transfer accounts to move money from unrestricted to restricted, and vice versa. We only have one bank account, and have Fund 01-unrestricted and Fund 02-restricted. Is it the case that every single transaction involving restricted funds must look like this? Let...

Re: Fund balance setup
Ok thanks. The Funds weren't originally setup properly as there was no 02-3110 account in Fund 02, which is why I just picked an available account for the transfer account to close to. In terms of the unrestricted fund balance in Fund 02. Would all income and expense accounts within Fund 02 close to...

Fund balance setup
So, I don't know if fund balances can work like this, but is it possible to set up one "master" fund balance, with a bunch of sub-fund balances? Basically I'm trying to find a solution to some issues with restricted funds, hopefully my explanation makes sense. We have restricted funds in Fund 02. We...

Re: investment tracking and withdrawals
So, I don't know what to do now. What I'm looking at having in the 03 Fund is the following, not including transfer accounts: Assets: 1851-000 Investment amount 1852-000 Interest gained Equity(Fund balance): 3126-000 Investment fund balance (just changing the name of the current FB) If I understand ...

Re: investment tracking and withdrawals
Ah, I'm starting to understand.
I also need to set up the Transfer accounts since we've never used them.
Can I set the "Transfer from" in the 03 fund to close to the investment fund balance (I hope this is correct?)

Re: investment tracking and withdrawals
So I'm still trying to wrap my head around how to correct the amount in our investment, and want to make sure I have the accounts set up properly in the new fund. In our case, we don't have losses, it's basically a high interest savings account. What I have set up: 03-1851-000 Investment (currently ...

Re: chart of accounts
I guess I can't do a restore then.
I did a Detail changes in equity and there's nothing in those fund balances in Fund 01.
Can I delete them since they shouldn't be there, or can I only deactivate them?

Re: chart of accounts
I created a new fund for investments, but I didn't create those accounts in fund 1, it just looks like all the fund balances in fund 2 were copied and made active in fund 1.
I did a backup before adding the new fund, if I do a restore, maybe it will go back to the way it was before?

chart of accounts
On Jan 6 I pulled a Chart of Accounts by Fund report. Under Net Assets a number of fund balances only showed an active square in fund 02. Now, if I pull this same report, for some unknown reason all of these fund balances now have active squares in both fund 01 and fund 02 I don't know how all of th...
