File permissions in All Users folder

In a limited users environment, PC is installed using Administrator credentials. Then, a limited user can run PC which on the first run creates some folders and files in the All Users profile. When maintenance updates are done on the server, the limited user will run PC on the workstation and see a ...

Integration of SMS (easier than you think?)

Our youth dept asked me about a service they could use to text groups of people. They said this is the best way to get a hold of someone in their circle and I agree. I looked into a couple services that allow you to send a text message to multiple recipients, and one of them has an API so you can ro...

Can't print labels: HASTRACTORFEEDPRINTER error

I get the following error trying to print labels. Personal Profiles > Print Mailing Labels > Select Tagged > then Press OK. That's when I get the error. This error occurs no matter what user logs into Powerchurch, and this doesn't occur on other machines. I've tried uninstalling the PC client, delet...

Oh, snap. I was thinking of that too, but ended up just restoring from the previous nights backup after talking to everyone and they said it would only take a few minutes to get caught up. Good to know though, thanks for the reply!

frm_aada.dataenvironment.cursor2 - aropen.dbf not found

PC 10.4 says \\server\pcplus10\aropen.dbf not found when clicking on Integrated Data Entry. The file isn't there, but does exist in the data folder. All my backups show this too, so I'm not sure why PC is choking now or why it's looking in the pcplus10 folder. I've disabled all AV on the server and ...

XP isn't being sold in stores soon. This isn't what "demise" means. It's supported via mainstream support for almost another year and extended support (meaning any critical updates) until 4/8/2014. So, keep using it. Even Windows 2000 is supported for another year and a half. They would do better to...

MSI installler for NetSetup

Could you possibly consider doing this? It would allow for automated deployment of the PC client via GPO to the client computers instead of having to go around to each machine manually. People will still be able to do the double-click to install manually, but it would give those of us over larger ne...

FYI, scanning network drives from clients will eventually get you. It's a no-no and performance will suffer in more than one area. The server should have it's own AV protection.

The behavior is by design, so there is no "fix" per se. If you want to get rid of this are-you-sure dialogue, open the Control Panel and go to Internet Options . Choose the Security tab , then click on the Trusted Sites zone then click the Sites button. You will probably need to uncheck the Require ...

Vista and backing up to CD's

I've just installed Vista and Powerchurch 9 via netsetup on our business persons computer. Previously he was able to do a backup to CD, and now he isn't. The drive shows up in the Explorer window, but the drive letter doesn't show as being available in PC. It's the same on my workstation with Vista....

I check the forums from time to time just to see if this type of thing is in development. A hosted solution using xSQL/PHP back end would be great! So here's a big "me too". I know many churches don't have the resources for such hosting, but I don't think that is a real issue. One project that I was...
