2010 donations for Haiti credit for 2009 possible problem

We have been getting donations for the Haiti earthquake relief that we forward on to the relief organization sponsored by our denomination. Congress has passed that donations for Haiti given through Feb 2010 will be tax deductible for 2009, but that people don't have to claim the deduction in 2009, ...

I've been using a 2gb Sandisk Cruzer flash drive with no problems. I believe there have been posts about other brands of flash drives that did not work because they were not seen by the system as "removable drives".

I just discovered this thread when searching for an answer to a problem backing up files in Power Church V9 on our new office Vista computer. This computer has an internal DVD burner for a drive, and that will write to CD-R disks from Windows, but when trying to backup to CD-R disks from the PowerCh...

Maint Rel for Ver 9 dated 5/17/07 and Bank Deposit Slip

I've been using the Bank deposit slip report as a list to go by when endorsing donor checks and checking accuracy of the data entered, since the items are listed in that report are in the same order the checks are in the stack. However with the latest maint rel for version 9 that report now comes ou...

If the default for contributions year start were set to some other month, to line up with a different accounting year fiscal year, wouldn't you have to be constantly changing the start date for contributors' statements in January when you prepare those for income tax purposes? That always runs by ca...

If you insert a range of $0.00 to $0.99, assuming each person that gives would probably give at least $1.00 within a month's time, then maybe you could get a count of how many didn't give, and by subtracting that number from the total contributors, would get a more accurate count of how many really ...

I am running the 11/11/05 release. Box 15a or b is not something I will use, but just in case there is somebody out there who would, they might have a problem.

Updated 1099 template

The current 1099-MISC form in version 9 seems to be based on the 2002 1099-MISC form. Since the current 2005 1099-MISC form has the former box 15 divided into 15A and 15B, will there be a maintenance release that updates the form, or is there some other way to get the correct form layout?

Too bad those great deals didn't work out so well. If you don't mind using a backup program external to Powerchurch to back up your data files, maybe could try SyncBack found on www.2Brightsparks.com. I was using that for awhile, with good results, and it doesn't care if you copy to local or removab...

Jack, at the top of page three in this thread, Zaphod included an e-mail he received from user Mark Garmon, pertaining to why some USB drives aren't seen by the Powerchurch program. Maybe your drive is one that the manufacturer has registered to appear as a local drive, which he claims won't work, a...

We have custom reports, both in membership module and accounts payable, that print addresses directly on envelopes, and also the church's return address. For selection criteria, we use 'enter later' 'from a list', and use last name for membership selection field, and Vender's ID for accounts payable...

If you set the report level to print at the level the group is, does that give you more what you are looking for, and not at the level the detail accounts are set at? Or would you lose some of the detail you want if you did that?

Maybe you could look at it as part of the salary, which has already been budgeted, has been diverted to a different destination, but since it came from the salary, you don't have to budget it??? We have something similar here with our Secretary's 403B retirement. and do it exactly the same way as in...

Neil, are you saying one can budget by the group and also by the detail accounts at the same time? I thought budgeting by the group was for a case where it didn't matter if the detail accounts under the group followed a strict budget for each item, but to see how the subtotal of all the items compar...
