thanks Neil! After having a training session for my Counters last night, that is EXACTLY what we decided to do! If we try to "monkey" with the deposit by taking cash out of one account and putting it into another one, it messes up the audit trail (and really confused my Financial Secretary to boot!).

One Check, Two Funds (2 bank accounts)
We're using the check reader and I have a couple of people who are writing ONE CHECK that part of it goes to Tithe and part of it goes to a Building Fund that are separate accounts at the bank. We used to be able to handle this by just grabbing the amount of the Building Fund in cash and put it in t...

related question
I set ours up BEFORE PowerChurch had the settings for member, teacher, chair, etc, so mine need to be "redone". Is there a quick way just to delete all the skill codes from individuals AND delete the definitions so I can start over. Basically we had to do a lot of stuff to give one person a skill co...

similar problem
I have a similar problem in that we have 3 different bank accounts for different funds (general operating fund, building fund, designated fund), so if I do contribution for multiple funds, they all show up on the same deposit ticket report even though they are for different funds (and different bank...

other PC users in your area
Amy, I believe if you call PowerChurch, they can tell you of other churches in your area that use the program. You can also take classes in PowerChurch Software or pay a consultant to come to your place.
I didn't see your location. If you are in Hawaii, I could be "bribed" to come and help!

Dan, are you talking about a "jump drive" or portable storage device? If so, as long as your operating system sees the USB device as a "legal drive" (like C: for your hard drive, E: for a portable storage device), it will show up in the list of "available backup drives" in PowerChurch. I've got 3 di...

Build a "custom check"
Joetta, we experienced the same thing when we bought a new Laser Printer. All you have to do is "edit" the check and move things around in the check layout. go to File -> Preferences -> Custom Check Layout your default check format should show up in the dialog box. Click on "Custom" in the lower rig...

oops! I see that now. I guess what threw me was that the envelopes that had only one contribution to them were all together and when PC sees two or more, it "stops" and subtotals them. If PC had put a blank line in BEFORE the grouping, it would have been easier to see. Is there a way you can turn th...

Neil, this is what it looks like. I don't know how it is grouping it because it is NOT by envelope number. It's not too pretty, but if you look after the date, you will see the envelope numbers that are in order, but grouped.... xxxxxxx Unposted Contributions (In Envelope Sequence) 01/30/2006 12:05 ...

Neil, they all do go to the same fund; sorry if I wasn't clear in that. We have just been using the "Check Scan" screen and checking the Cash radio button at the bottom right when we start to input the cash contributions after we have entered all the checks. I didn't know that the normal entry scree...

Unposted Contribution Report
when I print an unposted contribution report, it "groups" envelopes and gives me a subtotal, and then "groups" some more. I can't find how PC determines what contributions are in a "group". The report is sorted in envelope number order and it DOES sort by envelope numbers, but it puts a different nu...

Entering cash contributions quicker
Is there a way to tell PowerChurch to default to one fund number (our General Fund for Tithes & Offerings) when you are inputting the envelopes that have cash in them? Everything is going fine using our check reader for contributions, but it really slows down for entering the envelopes containing ca...
