This is Sandra's other half this time. Have used the dot printer with custom length paper settings in Word Pad, Outlook Express, MS Word 2003, MS Excel 2003 and Britannica 2004. Don't use them very much, sometimes I come across weird sizes of dot paper at garage sales etc. I am sure you have done th...

Dot Matrix in XP
Thank You Neil for your reply. Although I have been able to get several different dot printers to work in XP using the XP drivers for custom page lengths in other applications, Haven't been able to get it to Work with Power Church V 9. Looks like we will be getting an inkjet printer for this applica...

Printers for Windows XP
Currently using win 98, Ver 9 and an Epson LQ-570 dot matrix tractor printer. Checks are 8.5x7. This works very fine. Planning on upgrading to Win XP and after a trial run. The printer doesen't work. Page 26 of the manual has a note that tractor printers don't work on XP, NT 4, Win 2000. Anybody els...

Printing in Windows XP
On page 26 of the PowerChurch v.9 manual, it says, "tractor printing is not supported in PowerChurch Plus on Windows. . .XP. . .or later operating systems." Is this still the case? We had been using Windows 98 with a LQ570+ ESC/P2 tractor printer for checks and everything was working fine. We are up...

Changing default bank accounts
We are in the process of moving our checking accounts to a different bank. The first bank was in the 1110-000 default account designation. I have numbered the new bank account 1111-000. I will be using both for several months until all the checks at the first bank have cleared. When we finally close...

Adjusted Bank Balance in Reconciliation
What Tom is describing is exactly right. Except in my case, since I did not import data from my 8.5 to my 9.0, I can't seem to make an adjustment that fully remedies the problem. I assume the imbalance is contained in the amounts I put in as beginning balances. And since 9.0 does not allow for chang...

Adjusting Bank Reconciliation
Okay. Then my next question:
Will I have to carry that unmarked entry around in my check register forever?

Adjusted bank balance in reconciliation
How can I reduce the adjusted bank balance on my bank reconciliation, without changing anything else? My balance sheet is perfect. My account 1110 balance is correct. Everything is checked off that is supposed to be. But I'm 225 too high on my adjusted bank balance figure. So my reconciliation doesn...

Accounts attached to Donor Restrictions
Thanks Jeff, There's always a problem between a technical person's lingo and a non-technical one's. So "if I'm understanding you correctly" as you sometimes say, the answer to my question is "Yes." It appears as though you've said I can use as many different expense accounts as I want to spend the m...

Still need answer on donor restrictions
When setting up a Temporary Donor Restricted account using the "Maintain List of Donor Restrictions" in Fund Accounting, it only supplies a spot to attach one expense account to an income/release transaction. Is it possible to use, say, four different expense accounts from one temporary donor restri...

Adding unreconciled transactions
PS It is a whole lot easier to do if you can do it in the setup phase. In fact, I even started over once in order to do that. But then you have to redo your entire chart of accounts again. So try the journal entry method if you don't have too many to do. There are two places where I was not impresse...

Adding unreconciled transactions after setup is gone.
I had the exact same problem. You will find the answer at about the bottom of page one of the accounting forum here, posted to my enquiry about adding unreconciled transactions.

Housing allowance
One thing to keep in mind is that the housing allowance can only be one half of the person's compensation package, if I understand this correctly. So, one most of our pastoral staff, half is housing, half is salary, and any deductions they want are from the salary half. We have one individual who is...

Adding a fund
Alternately, if you are in v.9 and you just want to handle this money separately in your Missions accounting, but keep track of the money separately, do it as Temporarily Donor Restricted money. Click Accounting > Fund Accounting > Maintain List of Donor Restrictions. It will walk you through settin...
