Zaina,
Thank you so much! I had not even thought of "deleting" Feb. 17th. That is a definitely easier way to correct this error. I can envision our secretary inputting the negative numbers and making even more errors! Again thank you!

Re: Contributions posted to wrong date
Neil, I don't totally disagree. However, this has "gone on" for years. (It pre-dates my involvement as Chair of Stewardship.) And if you attempt to use the backup/restore feature to combine the files, the database from one will "overwrite" the other. We tried this a couple of years ago. So, we'll li...

Re: Contributions posted to wrong date
Neil, We're using PowerChurch Version 10. I believe that you're correct that the contributions were correctly entered - simply put on the wrong date. And I unfortunately thought the correction might not be the easy. And by the way, we have the program for our contributions on a "stand alone" laptop ...

Contributions posted to wrong date
Help! My church only uses PowerChurch to track contibutions. We have a new person posting the contibutions and the contributions for Feb. 10th were all posted to Feb. 17th. Is there any "quick and easy" way to correct a date error? I know that you can correct a posting error by entering the same amo...

Re: Failure to Restore
Neil, Some short history - My church has had and used PowerChurch for many years as I think it was the "only" software for churches. In 1999, we started using QuickBooks for Non-Profits and use it to this day for all of our Accounting. This will not change unless QuickBooks no longer provides softwa...

Failure to Restore
I've just taken over the Financial Secretary duties and am trying (operative word) to get started entering contribution data. Because we don't want to corrupt our attendence or membership data, I plan to do this on a stand-alone laptop. (Ultimately the Secretary will handle the data entry under my s...

Thanks. That's a method that I think we can use.

Re: Email Statements
Thanks. I think it is likely to be a case of "user error." I'll try to meet with our Financial Secretary and show her how to do this. Thanks again!

Re: Report on Non-Pledging Units
Thanks. Maybe I wasn't clear enough. PowerChurch has a report that shows us the name of each pledging contributor, the pledged amount and amount donated for each month. I can easily get a summary "total" of the non-pledged/visitor contributions from my Quickbooks system reports. (We do NOT use Power...

Email Statements
We've using the email feature to send out the quarterly contribution statements. Our pastor has traditionally written a letter that was sent with the statements. With the use of the email feature, the Financial Secretary has had to retype that letter into the "note" field. Is there a way to either i...

Report on Non-Pledging Units
My church's financial secretary records contributions and provides monthly reports. The reports provide contributions for pledging units for the general fund and for the building fund. I need a report showing contributions made by visitors and/or people who do NOT pledge. Does this report exist? If ...

I've now tried about 3 times to provide additional information but the Forum software is blocking me as I am a "new" user. I'm desperate for help in getting the email feature to work. PLEASE PLEASE SEND ME AN EMAIL AT MMERHOFF. I'm on MSN. I'm scared to put an address as the software doesn't like th...

Help Still Needed!
Good Morning. I've just tried twice to email all of the statements. I still get the same error message that I first posted. I've set up our email in set up preference. I've "checked" the box of outgoing email server requires authentication. I've put in my id and password. It still doesn't work!!!!! ...

Email Help
My church has upgraded to Version 10.4. A big reason for the upgrade is the ability to email contribution statements. This will save time and money. Anyway, I'm "testing" this before I give the financial secretary step by step directions on doing it. I got the set up right - at least the "test butto...
