Re: Transfers within a fund
Correct, we don't use the restricted funds feature in PowerChurch. We create a separate balance for anything that is restricted and keep track of it that way.

Re: Transfers within a fund
Yes, that's correct. The preschool fund is separate from the church and it has the preschool balance and the scholarship balances in it. I was going to just move $1,000 from one balance to the other, but wasn't sure if that was the correct way to do this or not. For example: Debit #02-3110 Scholarsh...

Transfers within a fund
Our preschool has a fund with the preschool balance and also a scholarship balance in it. I wanted to record the scholarships given for the year, so I debited the scholarship balance directly and credited the preschool balance for the same amount. I realized later that this won't show on the prescho...

Re: Can multiple contribution funds be applied to a pledge?
Would you recommend reassigning the online contribution fund # 101 to contribution fund #100 now? I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to correct this. Reversing posted contributions from online giving #101 and reentering the contributions to #100 General Fund contributions will take quite awhil...

Can multiple contribution funds be applied to a pledge?
We are using Power Church vs.11. We have several contribution fund numbers that are used for our general fund donations so that we can keep track of online giving, check and cash donations, and stock donations separately. For example, #100 is General Fund contributions, #101 is Simply Giving General...

Differentiating between one time donors and members
You can assign one number (we chose 9999) for all anonymous donations or nonmembers who don't put their address on the envelope. We only use envelope numbers between 1 and 1,999 for members. We use envelope numbers 2,000-2,999 for visitors with addresses. If we have a mission trip we are raising don...

Recording an unrealized loss
We have invested in a mutual fund that has taken a hit this year and I'm not sure how to show the unrealized loss on the balance sheet. Does anyone know how to do this?
