Database updates & viewing with multiple users
(Version 11 with maintenance releases) Our church now has two users entering in membership info into the database, which is stored on a separate computer (our "server"). We are finding that only one can be in at a time doing updates. When one person is updating, the other can type but then at the sa...

Re: Credit Card
Sounds like you did it right, if I follow you... In the end, the liability should equal zero, with the expenses in their proper postings, and the money out of the proper bank accounts. I usually make a rough "money trail" making sure the final in/out is correct, with the interim account (liability) ...

Re: Assigning a Job
Right now we use the activity/role for emailing out reminders to those volunteers. It works well. But we use excel or word to keep track of the rotations.
Just wondering how much to automate into Events, and how much needs to remain outside of PC+
Thanks for the tidbit.

Re: Assigning a Job
good question... I'm new to the events calendar as well. Wondering how to set up ushers/greeters. Same situation...I need, perhaps, 5 people each week, but rotating teams. Should it be setup like: event - 8:30 service activity usher (how would role fit in? role team A usher or team A greeter) task ?...

equipment inventory in version 11
We maintained our inventory in version 9. Now that we are on version 11, I'm finding the screens changed. Wondering if someone out there could lend me some tips on standardizing the database... For example: before, I had to enter 8ft tables for each room as a separate record(quantity per room). Now ...

Re: Accounts Payable Account Distribution
I agree with both suggestions. Either set up a dummy default acct in the payable record, and change for each different billing, or set up multiple repeated bills with different accts (this won't change the default in the payable record). If you mean that you need more than one debit and credit to co...

Re: Designated Contribution Report
When we do a missions trip this year, I have thought about using contribution fund numbers for each traveler, then also a general donation for the trip in general. Right now, I have general gifts to the trip, then fundraising to the trip, posted to two different fund accounts. For each person, I wou...

Re: Activity attendance report
I tried to load the word doc into excel, but I don't know enough about the software to convert it over to excel correctly...came out with coding and text all together. My quickest fix would be to re-reun the report for the same timeframe, but save in excel.

I have the same problem. I just keep lots of sticky notes on my computer monitor.
