Re: Emailing Select Groups of Contribution Statements
Is there something that is common with the ones you want to produce? Like only people who have given to a particular fund or have given above a certain amount?

Re: Voided Checks
Each transaction has to have a posting date and a posting month. You could have a transaction dated oddly like say 12/15/2104 and post it to the month of March 2014. It will affect the March 2014 balance sheet but not the check register for several more years as it goes by date! Or you could have a ...

Re: Contributions in Personal Profile
If you have enabled passwords (File -> Preferences -> Passwords) and are signed in as the System Admin, you can add users and give them permissions. Typically you might have someone be a data entry only meaning they can go into Contributions and simply enter data but you can restrict their ability t...

Re: Windows 8 compatibility
When you mentioned that you are getting the numbers to enter, are you referring to the 941? The 941 changed for 2014. If you aren't on the latest maintenace release for your version, you may not have the pdf for 2014. In this situation, PR will print out a report so that you can manually fill in the...

Re: fund accting entry originating in contributions
When you void a check in AP, you still have to post it both in AP and then again in fund accounting. Is it possible that the void was deleted in FA or possibly it hasn't been posted yet? In Contributions, could it have been entered as a possible cash amount? If so, reversing it in CO to the cash env...

Re: Payroll 941 Assistant - Total deposits?
Payroll can calculate, based on your setup and entered information, what the tax liability should be but not what was actually paid. So it is a manual field where you enter what was actually paid.

Re: duplicate checks
Just a thought, are you checking the unposted transaction in fund accounting? Is it possible the missing check has been posted from accounts payable but not into FA yet? Possibly when you then post the correcting entry, you are posting them both?

Re: Difficulty setting up email on PowerChurch 9
No, a version of Outlook installed on the server is not a requirement. However the same settings that get your email working in the Outlook versions is the same kind of information that PowerChurch needs to work. What is your email providers outgoing email, (example: mail.myemail.com, or smtp.myemai...

Re: How to I account for a Taxable Benefit
On the employees pay items tab, double click on the employer tax liability items and make sure it is using the corresponding table and not set to a manual amount. If the item is using the appropriate tax table, it should match the employees amounts.

Re: Preferred name on contribution statement
Just a thought...I can see using preferred name as a problem on contribution statements. My 'preferred' name is my middle name. But for tax and other official documentation, I use my first name. I have never tried it, but I feel that documentation of that type would cause an issue with the IRS?

Re: First Bank Reconciliation
Just a thought, what about the dates? Are all of the transactions dated before the statement date you are entering? In the newer versions,11 and 11.5, they will not show you something dated after the statement date. An example would be you enter a date of 10/30/2013. Any transactions dated for 10/31...

Re: Failed to connect....
Yes, you had a port issue, but you should still update your client. The old client connects to old servers that will eventually be taken offline. The new branded PowerChurch Online (new IDS client that looks like a white globe with green lines) connects to the new servers. So it would be advisable t...
