Re: Trial balance: Fund checking account balances out of wha
Last question, and then I'm giving up on this until Monday. When Fund 02 was set up in 2004, the Fund Balance (02-3001) had a credit balance of 9425.00. Shouldn't the checking account, 02-1110, have had a corresponding debit balance? The system correctly tracked the income and expenses, but at the b...

Re: Trial balance: Fund checking account balances out of wha
thanks guys- this is really really helpful. If I restart accounting will it affect any other users in our office? 5 of us use PC+ for different purposes. Also, should I use the most current Fund Accounting Balance sheet, ie April 2012? So if I do this, I'll basically have two installations of PC on ...

Re: Trial balance: Fund checking account balances out of wha
I just counted, we actually have 25 funds! it's a lot and personally I'd like to streamline it but that's not my decision to make :) It's convoluted for sure. I'm really nervous to use restart accounting and I don't know how to keep a second installation running with a current backup... If I restart...

Trial balance: Fund checking account balances out of whack
We have about 30 funds. When I run an Accounting Fund Balance report, it gives me what I believe are the proper fund balances. However, when I run a Trial Balance, all the fund checking account balances are totally out of whack. The checking account number is 1110 across all the funds. This problem ...

Re: Do Not Balance Warnings
Thanks! So I should use my accounting fund balances sheet to determine YE 2011 balances? That's what we reported to the congregation in the annual report, so I think that's where I should begin. However, those balances are different from the trial balance, which is different from the balance sheet.....

Re: Do Not Balance Warnings
I have a big problem. ALL my funds are out of balance. How do I go about correcting this? I came on board here in 2009; the person who trained me said it didn't matter when writing checks if you used Fund 01-1110, 02-1110, or whatever when writing a check as long as the correct expense account was u...

Re: Accounts Payable: auto & bill pay
OK. I haven't done that before so I'll see if I can figure it out. I assume I can change the amount on the manual/repeating check?

Accounts Payable: auto & bill pay
I set up several of our recurring bills on bill-pay via our checking account, thus I'm not cutting a physical check for these individual payments. Is there an expedient way to enter them into PC+? I was just going to do journal entries directly into fund accounting but if there's a better way throug...

Reconciling Investment account
We have one investment account (#1450) spread out over 14 funds. Our core/cash investment account (#1150) is reconciled separately. The checking/operating account is completely separate (#1110) and doesn't factor into this equation. My core account balances perfectly. my investment account, however,...

Thinking of doing Payroll via PC+: How hard is it?
We currently use ADP for our payroll service. They do everything- all I do is fax in the hours and if there are any changes, I let them know. They handle withholding and paying the taxes and all that. I am thinking that if we upgrade to the new version of PC+ and integrate with Vanco, we can offer d...

Reassigned Envelope #'s and now Pledge info is crossed
I hope I can explain this correctly: I did some envelope reassigning based on the physical envelopes we have available. I reassigned #118 to #75, and #75 to #118. This made Mrs. 118 very upset so I switched her back. However, all her past pledge info now shows on Mr. 75's Statement. I was able to co...

Re: Help! Making a Contribution; doesn't want a pledge recorded
Thanks for your very informative response. we actually receive quite a few stock gifts so I'm used to handling them; however, your entry procedure is different from mine and, I think, more correct. I've had trouble the last couple of months getting our investment account to reconcile and it's becaus...
