Re: Removing fixed assets

Thanks Matt. I'll give it a try and then run some reports and see how things look.

Re: Removing fixed assets

Thanks matt. I had another question that I meant to post at the same time but forgot. I think it might involve similar transactions to the asset accounts. A few years ago, our church was starting another church plant. The pastor wanted to track all the income and expenses for this mission separately...

Removing fixed assets

When we first started using PC a few years ago, I used the accounting reports from previous treasurer to set up all the accounts. Included in that setup was a few entries for fixed assets. At the time, there was a vehicle and some office equipment. I found out that these numbers were not necessarily...

Re: Help with Filing W2's

I agree with Bill. Filing them online with the SSA site is so much easier. the first year requires quite a bit of setup for each employee but then it remembers in subsequent years. Since you only have 2 employees, it shouldn't be too bad.

Additional income on W-2

I am no longer writing checks for the church but will probably get stuck with preparing W2s. There were a couple of checks written to our pastor earlier this year that need to be included as income. i was trying to figure out a way that they would be included in our payroll report used to create W2s...

Re: contribution fund

Do you have a specific problem or just don't know where to start. To begin, under Contributions, click "Setup", then "Maintain List of Contribution Funds". When the next screen comes up, click on the "Add" button at top then fill in the fund number and name. That is the minimum to get you going.

Re: Payroll tax problem

John, I actually did create a new pay item called "SSI Correction". I went back to the other employees on a future paycheck and deducted the additional amount of social security from their pay. This means that additional amount was also entered in the liability account. When I paid IRS, I paid the f...

Hacked?????

Is anybody else noticing all these posts by "SQUALO"? They appear to be written in a foreign alphabet. I don't think that this is a valid Powerchurch user and wonder what tech issues they might be trying to cause! :?:

Re: Payroll tax problem

Yes, John. I went back over all the payrolls and made corrections to the staff and also paid the IRS. However, no entries have been put in the accounting system. (It's a long story but someone else was supposed to have taken over the treasurer position at the beginning of the year. It didn't work ou...

Payroll tax problem

I think I posted some time earlier about not withholding the proper amount of employee social security tax for the pay period that ended last December but got paid on Jan 02 of this year (when the % went back up to 6.2). I made adjustments to later paychecks and withheld the additional amount of mon...

Re: Failed to connect....

Additionally, if you are still trying to connect to apps.mypowerchurch.com, that is incorrect. If you have a PC laptop, the new IDS client (looks like a white globe with green longitude and latitude lines) it should automatically be connecting to online.mypowerchurch.com. If you still have the whit...

Neil,
so if the ISP is blocking that port, is there anything that I can do to change it at this house?

Failed to connect....

I am out of town for holiday but trying to do some work on PC Online. I am using our laptop that is used regularly at home for connecting to PowerChurch. The house here has wi-fi connection which is successfully connected on this laptop (obviously since I am posting on here). However, when I try to ...

Re: Unposted Payroll transactions

Matt, I just went back like you said and selected "Post Payroll". Perhaps the transactions that I'm looking for are there. I was looking for ones that had a processed date of 11/6/13. That was how my 6 corrections were marked. Do the voided checks keep the original date of the check? I do see transa...
