My information is based on the assumption that they are using a church credit card!
If they are using their own credit card then you would follow Neil's instructions like any other vendor.

Re: Expense Tracking Solution
Just to clarify, I DO NOT WRITE OUT A PHYSICAL CHECK.
The manal check entry is made out to the business just as I would for a normal physical check, except the credit card liability account is credited instead of the checking account.

Re: Expense Tracking Solution
What I have been doing for church Credit Cards is as follows: When there is a CC charge, I enter a manual check with the Number being the name of the CC user (we only have three). The manual check would credit the credit card libility account and debit the expense account. When the CC bill come due,...

Security to add Music Library codes
We have a choir member that wants to created our music library and keep it up to date. As System Administrator, under Other Modules, I gave her all access to the Music Library. She were unable to add in the "Maintain Music Library Codes". I then went into the System Utilities and gave her access to ...

Re: Report challenge for Power Church 14
It is too late now, but for the future, you may want to create a contribution fund that is used exclusively with on-line tithing.
We use Vanco for online giving and have setup specific contribution fund numbers for online giving items.
Not a sermon, just a thought.

Re: budget saved as Excel spreadsheet error
Based on my 15+ years of using PowerChurch, when you save a powerchurch report as an excel spreadheet, ALL fields are save as they would appear on a printed report. This means that any total lines in the report will appear as, and be saved as text. You therefore cannot alter a line item and expect t...

Contribution designations
I am running PC 12.2 online and have been a PC user for 15+ years. This is basically a heads-up posting so people know what to do if they run into this issue. Today I added a new contribution designation however it did not show up in the dropdown when entering a contribution. I tried with both the C...

Re: Member Contributes Her Purchase
We do one of two options depending on what they want. 1. Write them a letter thanking them for the donation. This woud not show up on their giving statement. 2. Write them a check as reimbursement for the expense, then have them endorse the check to the church and give it back. this way it will show...

Re: Required Minimum Distribution Contribution
For your information: When a RMD check is sent directly to the church from the investment firm, it cannot be declared as a tax deduction on the contributor's income taxes if they itemize. The reason to do this is so the contributor does not pay taxes on the withdrawal since they don't receive the mo...

Re: Contribution Import from .csv file
Are you receiving the .csv file from Vanco? Within Vanco you can assign the envelope number to the giver. If you signup to automatically import the entries through PC, you don't have to worry about a .csv file. It works great.

Re: closing months, old posted transactions
PowerChurch is a very powerfull church tool however you should have some accounting knowledge. When I became church treasurer 14 years ago I went to a community college and took the Accounting 101 class to refresh my basic accounting knowledge. The class was designed more for a business then a churc...

Re: PC Online on a Chromebook computer
OK, Determination and 40 years as a computer programmer has paid off. Instead of using the Chromebook keyboard, I flipped the screen over and was able to use the "on screen" Go-Global keyboard to enter data. It is not very user friendly because it takes up half the screen when being used but it can ...
