Jan 2 Payroll
I acted too hastily - hope you can help me before I dig my hole even deeper. I'm using v. 10.4. I had a bi-weekly payroll scheduled for January 2, covering Dec 16-29. After printing the checks I became aware that the FICA employee rate was expected to go back up to 6.2% on Jan 1. Not being sure if t...

Re: Priest Discretionary Fund
I think my process for contributions to our Deacons fund may work for you - I am like you, NOT an accountant, so any more experienced feedback would be welcome. Contributions: Set up Contribution funds for each of your discretionary funds, that each post to a (separate) liability account. In my case...

Re: Changing addressee for Contrib Statement
Aha! Eureka! Now I get it! I always wondered why the newsletter labels (from family mailing list) and contribution statements were addressed differently.
Thank you! Looks like I've got a little updating of records to do. Good thing it's a slow week...

Changing addressee for Contrib Statement
When I run contribution statements, the addressee name is different than what is found in the membership module, i.e Mr John Smith instead of Mr & Mrs John Smith. Mrs Smith, who faithfully contributes, has asked me to change the statement going forward. Is this possible? I haven't found anything in ...

Re: Payroll recording check twice
Thanks Neil - I'll give it a go. Thinking on it more, I may have over-paid the 941 deposit for that quarter, because the income and amounts withheld would both have been overstated. And the 941 return would have reflected the same figures. It's always something, isn't it? Oh well, mistakes are just ...

Payroll recording check twice
Hi - I'm running v 10.4. I just became aware of a problem. In January, when new salary rates were implemented, I printed a paycheck onto plain paper to review before printing the check. I'm pretty sure that when the "Do you need to reprint?" dialog box came up, I said yes, then reprinted the check, ...

Re: Donations in Kind
Thanks, that makes perfect sense. Would you create a smiliar "tangible asset" group for donations of things like communion elements, pot luck supplies, nursery curtains, Sunday School supplies? Or would those be expenses? We are blessed to have lots of folks who pay for things out of pocket, and rat...

Donations in Kind
When a member gives a gift or service to the church instead of a monetary contribution, I use the Contributions Module to record the contribution to the Fund Number set up for "Donations in Kind." This then posts to an Income Account. For example, our Webmaster pays for our website fees, then submit...

EFTPS and 941 forms for Payroll liabilities
Anybody using EFTPS for payroll liabilities? I'm still taking a check to the bank to process our Federal, Social Security and Medicare withholding. I suspect this option may be obsolete in the not-too-distant future. My holdup is, what's the best way to reflect an online payment in PC? I'm thinking ...
