Re: Lost budget data
Neil ... Thanks for your reply. I found the reference to the task scheduler after I wrote my original post. I've already done a reindex, to no avail. The data is gone. There's simply noting in the table that corresponds to an account higher than 5300 or so. I've got a backup in cloud storage from ye...

Re: importing existing members in new install
If you still have access to your old installation, do a backup of just the membership files. It's an option on the backup dialog. Then, in your new installation, restore your membership backup. You'll get membership data, but no accounting or contribution information. Should be good to go. If you do...

Re: Lost budget data
Neil . . . Was hoping you would respond, and thanks for doing so as quickly as you did. I "reorganized" by changing account numbers in the Maintain Chart of Accounts screen. We had a lot of designated offering and release accounts that had accumulated over the years, and we couldn't find anything, s...

Lost budget data
Hi everyone . . . I was working on a major re-organization of our chart of accounts. Moving accounts around, alphabetizing, etc. After completing the job, I printed an income/expense statement ... and my budget data for half the accounts, everything from about 5500 and above, is gone. And, not just ...

Finances on iPad
Is there a way to use PowerChurch Online to allow access to the accounting information via an iPad?
Does the IDS client work on an iPad?
Thanks . . .

Re: Liability and Expense Accounts in the I/E Report
Okay . . . this is a little complicated, but . . . let's suppose you're paying your secretary. Income taxes are a deduction from the secretary's salary. As such, when the secretary is paid, the gross salary is taken from the expense account entitled "Secretary Salary". The taxes to be withheld are d...

Re: Names on contribution statements
Never mind. Found it. The wife's profile had her Directory Sequence set to 3, and the Adult field was blank, so the system thought she was a child. Hence the " . . . and Family."

Re: Names on contribution statements
We've got a similar issue. A married couple with the same envelope number. The contribution statement reads "Mr. John Doe and Family". We have several other couples with shared envelope numbers, and their statements are addressed to "KJohn and Jane Doe". Can't find a difference. What's causing the s...

Custom Report Directory - replace "Photo Not Available"
Hi . . . We've built a pictorial directory using the custom report generator. We like what we've got, with one exception. When a family doesn't have a picture, the program prints a message in text: "Photo Not Available". What I want to do is have the report use the generic "No photo" icon that shows...

Re: Missing Invoice in Accounts Receivable Statement
Tried that . . . should have mentioned it in my original post . . . and it didn't fix the problem. Thanks for the reply. I appreciate your taking the time.

Missing Invoice in Accounts Receivable Statement
We have a "customer" whose individual account report is incorrect. She's got payments to an invoice that does not appear on the report, generating a credit balance that she really doesn't have. I did a quick look in the invoices table of the A/R module, and the invoice is present. It's just not bein...

Mailing label to parents of youth, children
I asked our secretary to send a letter to the parents of youth to advertise a meeting for our new year in youth ministry. She has youth tagged in Activities and Skills based on the various programs in which they are involved. At times, we want to send a letter to the parents of kids in a particular ...

We use the Accounts Receivable module for fundraisers. Most of the time, these are not true contributions under tax law. When someone receives something of value in return, it's not a contribution, it's a sale. Same goes for tuition payments to our preschool. Let me add that the A/R module is sadly ...

A/R Credit Memo issue
Here's a problem we have. We created a credit memo for one of our youth, based on a fund-raising project. Then, applied a portion of the credit memo ($61) against the cost of her participation in our ski trip. So far, so good. Then, her brother was going to summer camp, and wanted to use the unused ...
