Re: Annual contribution from investment came early
Thanks for both of your input. I relayed your responses to them and they still feel like there should be a way to do this. One of them mentioned that a church he came from before joining ours did prepaid pledges for the following year and thought we could record this payment in that same manner. We ...

Annual contribution from investment came early
Our fiscal year runs April 1 to March 31. We have some regular contributors who send their tithe through investment companies once or twice a year. They generally arrive around the same months each year, but this year we had one arrive in February instead of April as it usually does. By posting this...

Bank recorded deposit incorrectly
After depositing our Sunday tithes recently, I noticed on the deposit slip that the teller made an error recording the deposit as being $100 more than it actually was. They made a deposit adjustment the following day to correct the error. I assume I need to record the $100 debit and credit to the ch...

Re: Refunding a pre-tax deduction
You are correct that the funds went into a liability account when deducted.
That makes perfect sense to add it to the upcoming check for it to be taxed and add a note as to why. Thanks so much for your help!

Refunding a pre-tax deduction
One of our employees recently cancelled his AFLAC insurance plan for which we had been taking out a pre-tax deduction in payroll through PCP V14. He had two payroll checks that were processed and deposited in his checking before I realized the policy was closed, so they both had the pre-tax deductio...

Re: Credit card refunded more than was originally charged
Actually, it was a credit from Budget Car Rental and not Visa, so the credit can't be used up by future charges. I would really like to clear it from the liability account as it is just sitting in the Purchases and Other Transactions list in reconciliation waiting to be cleared. Could you explain ho...

Credit card refunded more than was originally charged
I recently had an experience with a rental car company where they charged our credit card and then issued a refund because of an overcharge. When they issued the refund, it was for $.12 more than the original charge. I contacted them with the error, but they basically said to keep it. I now have a $...

Recording Square payments that are not tithes
Our youth minister recently began using a Square reader to accept payments for youth activities, registration fees, and food reimbursements. I am trying to figure out how to record these payments in PCP. We already accept online payments for tithing through Vanco, so I have a system set up for tithe...

Transferring Credit from Designated Fund Liability Account
We recently facilitated a missions trip for our church and ran the travel expenses through a designated fund. Our church Visa card, which is set up as a liability account, was used to pay for the rental van to the airport. After having major problems with the rental, the company wound up refunding p...

Line 13 on 941 quarterly return not populating
We are on PCPV12 and I am working on our 941 quarterly tax return. On the very first page of the 941 Assistant, it asks "How often do you deposit federal taxes:" I marked monthly as we pay ours in each month. Is there a reason that box 13a does not populate with the deposit totals? Is this something...

Correcting Entry on Liability Account
Our church has a Walmart credit card (2210)and a Visa (2205). When balancing the Walmart liability account today, I found an amount that should have been posted to the Visa liability account. In an effort to correct this, I voided the original manual check entry in Accounts Payable and reentered it ...

Could you expound on the settings used to set up your Account Activity report to print after reconciling the liability account? I can't figure out how to get the different funds to total separately. I'm missing something...

Re: Accounting Entries Missing
I do have an old version of PowerChurch on my computer that contains 2016 info and older as we updated our COA in 2017, but it is really difficult to open. Not a case that I could accidentally post to it. It appears that it is only transactions that were made on Monday in the accounting side of PCP....

Re: Accounting Entries Missing
I don't see anything like that having happened. The last entry was from April 2021 when we upgraded to V12.2.
