Re: Project cost accounting
So at the end of the year my project cost overran donations by $25,000. It's a temp restricted account and the $25,000 is carrying over for the 2025 fiscal year. what should I have done to close it out in 2024 so it's zero for the next project? Thanks. Ok ... you didn't say where the $25K is sittin...

Re: contributions non deductible
Our church is buying t-shirts for members to wear at certain functions (mostly outreach) to get a bulk purchase price. Members are paying for their own shirts. They are writing checks to the church and the church is paying by credit card. What is the best way to enter these checks so they are not d...

Re: Check have posted, but show up as not being posted
I have 5 checks that were written under accounts payable on Tuesday. They have been posted and posted to fund accounting. The problem is that they are still showing up under unposted accounts payable. I have tried re-indexing but I don't know what else to do. Any ideas? They are posted in Funds Acc...

Re: balance sheet
Several years ago when we first started using the bookkeeping in this program we had an outside company set it up for us. When I pulled the Balance Sheet it shows a couple of accounts that were never monitored from this program and actually no longer exist. One was for a fund when we had a youth ca...

Re: Emailing Contributions
Hi, I emailed contributions for the first time this year and what a time and money saver! However, I had several members who said they did not receive their statement. They are showing up in my sent folder and I did not receive a returned email so I think they are ending up in their spam or junk fo...

Re: Reconciling Old & New Account
We had to recently close our original general funds checking account due to fraud and open a new one. I created a new account in chart of accounts and did a journal entry to transfer the balance from the original account to the new one. I have reconciled the March bank statement for the original ac...

Re: Change Pay Period on Payroll
I processed payroll last month for the pay period of March 1-15 and entered the wrong pay date (04/15/25) so I went back and processed again with the correct pay date (03/15/25). I didn't void or reverse anything as it wasn't showing on the March statement since I entered April as the pay date. Now...

Re: Removing Negatives From the Balance Sheet
There are individual transactions that I could probably pinpoint as being the reason why the balances went negative. With some detective work I could probably comb back through our accounting and reverse/correct those transactions and write new ones that won't cause them to go negative. But some ar...

Re: Pass Through
When the money came in I posted it like this: 01-1120, Checking, DB $500 01-2310, Pass Through, CR $500 Then when we paid it out I posted this: 01-1120, Checking, CR $500 01-2310, Pass Through, DB $500 Is that wrong? This is the first time I've done this so I'm pretty confused. Thanks for all your ...
