Noticed something else that caused me some heartburn. On the scan checks entry, when you tab down the fund to enter a fund number, the field preloads with a 0, so if I enter a 1, the fund number then becomes a 10. Its a pain to have to hit the delete or space key to overwrite that zero. I didn't ha...

Maintenance Release - Readme File

I know this has been asked before, but could a Readme file listing the fixes in each maintenance release be packed in the maintenance release ?? If that's not feasible, how about a topic under announcements listting the updates. I know that they are normally listed in the email sent out, but I didn'...

This is a known issue with network clients. You can download an updated netsetup9.exe file from http://www.powerchurch.com/support/downloads Sorry for the inconvenience. Great !! Also found an update for Pocket Powerchurch that I'll need to install !! All in all, fairly typical for a major update, ...

How does PC+ do the contributors who have not pledged report

Hi, as the topic says, my financial secretary (happens to be my wife) wants to do a custom report pulling the amount given by people who have not pledged. However, the custom reports module for contributions does not show the pledge data when you are not 'doing' pledge reports. I know the built in r...

Thanks Jeff, you beat me to it ... that was my problem on Sunday too . Luckily I was the one doing the counting. Noticed something else that caused me some heartburn. On the scan checks entry, when you tab down the fund to enter a fund number, the field preloads with a 0, so if I enter a 1, the fund...

Steve, I like Neil's idea of an off-site copy and at times consider my copy at home to be that copy. It would probably be a better idea to have an off-site CD. I'd just need to remember to ferry it back and forth on a weekly basis. Just thought I'd share. My $.07 worth, Jeff Jeff, what I've been do...

Re: application backup

I agree with Zaphod that it is a good idea to use the backup facilities that are provided by the software vendor. However, this needs to be tempered with an understanding of the skill level of the user(s). I would love to have the database backed up using the vendor-supplied tools, but the only fac...

Re: Closing the Accounting Year

We have provided some documents on closing the end of the year. They can be found at http://www.powerchurch.com/support/kb/kbview.php?article_id=16. 404 Not Found. If I remember right, the PC+ website switched to a database of articles, rather than individual pages. Try this link: http://www.powerc...

Thanks for reporting this. The issue has been sent to program development. There will be a maintenance release available for PowerChurch Plus version 9 on our website hopefully late this week or early next week. There's always something ... I usually spent the next week after a release making fixes...

Urp ... I hope we didn't miss this one!!

Hi, I don't know if I missed this in the beta or what, but in both the All Contributions Statements and the Individual Contributions Statements when you uncheck the box that reads Print details for the same dates as totals: you cannot change the dates in those date fields. You can't enter via a curs...

How do you insure that the people that come fill out your card? That is the sticking point for us that causes us to not view "Absence" data as reliable. I Thanks. You can't. However, we use a 'pew pad' or 'Friendship Pad' approach to getting attendance for members and visitors. Iin the pews, we hav...

Re: Is Foxpro ODBC driver read only?

Each member must have the activity 500 added through the activity function. This initial setup is time consuming, but then as new names are added, this becomes a matter of course. I'm not sure, but if they are not setup for that entry, I don't think you could even add attendence, which may have bee...

Re: Is Foxpro ODBC driver read only?

But you have missed something on the the Attendance fast updating. We use something like the cards to track attendence of all visitors and members. The name appears, I hit the space bar to change the A to a B and then start entering the last name of the next person on the list. If its the person's ...

Re: Tagalong question: Envelop-less contributions

Neil et al: We are seriously looking at using check reader to link to envelop numbers. And are looking at ordering 80% fewer envelop kits .. still keeping some for kids, new members, and any existing members who really prefer them.... Has anyone already examined and/or TRIED this option? What are y...
