Re: Account balance vs Reconciliation

NeilZ - How do you view what you entered as the beginning balance? I believe I made a similar error. I can't reconcile my bank account for Jan. and I believe that is why. (still learning and have been trying to figure out the error before I did Feb) I have the latest version and I need to check wha...

Re: Pastor wants to defer pay and have it credited to missions

Our senior pastor has asked me to not pay him for the next 3 weeks and to credit that money to our church's mission trip. He wants no credit for this donation. Is there a way to credit the mission trip account without giving the Pastor contribution credit? Is there someplace that I should document ...

Re: entries in GE

I practiced entering checks, credit card purchases, contributions, payroll, etc in PCP for December. Now I want to delete everything except the CoA and start as of Jan 1, 2021. How do I delete entries in GE? I think I have AP, Contributions and Payroll deleted. I did not want to do a restart and ha...

Re: Account balance vs Reconciliation

Yes, that was my mistake. I misread the instructions and used the bank statement balance. Is there a way to correct it or do I need to restart accounting? Trying to correct what was done now can be more trouble than its worth depending on how many transactions you need to input manually. Were you c...

Re: Account balance vs Reconciliation

We just started PC for accounting this January. I entered December bank statement ending balance and then all outstanding deposits and cheques in the set-up assistant. When all the funds and accounts were properly accounted for I entered all the January transactions. When I run the reconciliation I...

Re: Care Act PPP Loan Forgiveness

Just a note ... You should CREDIT an income account that is not your normal Tithes and Offerings account, as adding this amount to that income will skew the amount and throw off your normal budget process. If you don't have a Miscellaneous Income account (normally a 4600- series account), create one...

Re: How often to backup and how should you keep those files

Thanks for your reply and feedback. How long do you keep your backups though? I back up several times a week to as much as daily during the week when I am working. I use PowerChurch online and it was my understanding when we started with it last year that PowerChurch recommends storing backups on y...

Re: Required Minimum Distribution Contribution

You are such a help. Thank you so much. I was going to name it Non Taxable Contribution, but I much prefer Non Deductible Offering. I have another question. Secretary was wondering if the RMD check could simply be entered as a deposit through Fund Accounting and not run thru the contribution module...

Re: Required Minimum Distribution Contribution

What did you name the new contribution fund and do you only use it for RMD contributions. Thank you so much for your help. I didn't do this, its a suggestion. However, you can use it for any type of tithes and offerings monetary contribution that should not be tax deductible. Frankly, since you're ...

Re: Required Minimum Distribution Contribution

"As far as entering the contribution is concerned, you could do one of two things. Enter it as a normal contribution and let the donor figure things out at tax time, providing they know the tax rules." If the RMD is entered as a normal contribution, it will be listed on the annual contribution stat...

Re: revised form 941 for 2021

Did I miss something? When I try to process the 1st qtr Form 941 for 2021, the year still shows up as 2020. We process payroll on March 15 thru the bank so the transactions are already in Power Church. Do I have to wait until later in March? Running Version 12.2 and when I try to download the lates...

Re: How to reprint previous year W-2s

Select Accounting, then Accounting Reports, then Payroll. No W-2s. Where do I find them? Select Accounting, then Payroll, then Reports - Payroll. No W-2s. The reason is W-2s are not reports, they are tax reporting forms, and have always been listed under Tax Reporting. Select Accounting, then Payro...

Re: How often to backup and how should you keep those files

I am just wondering what the recommendation is on how often to backup PowerChurch and how long should you keep those files? I usually backup daily or every few days and keep the files. Now that I am online though, the files are saved to my computer and are taking up space. Thanks in advance!! It's ...

Re: Balance sheet

My balance sheet is 40 less then my liabilities? How do I check for that error? Last month it was equal but now I’m unsure how to check and to fix? Can anyone help? The Balance Sheet only contains transactions made up to the end of the month. I suspect that the transaction that added funds to the l...
