Re: Transit Asset account / Chart of Accounts

We are getting setup to import Vanco Transactions into PowerChurch. In my role as Parish Administrator I use the Accounts Payable and Membership modules regularly. I have access to Fund Accounting and use it to support the work of our Treasurer. I am working to assist our Financial Secretary (Contr...

Re: Errors I need help

I have run into similar situations in the past. You could try running a Selected Paid Items report on the accounts you wrote the check for and compare how many voids you have against how many checks have been posted. If you posted the check twice and voided it twice, then you are back at Ground Zer...

Re: Errors I need help

I think you are right about compounding the problem by trying to void. I don't have access this morning to give you the specifics but it sounds like my errors will be best corrected if I restore it back a month. You said I could possibly restore just accounting does that also include all the contri...

Re: Errors I need help

So I had a check that I reversed and then for some reason it posted again so I tried void check and my reconciliation just kept getting worse. So I reversed all my reverses and it's a huge mess. We backup once a month. Since there is no delete what are my options? We backup with power church system...

Re: revise 2020 w-2

No! I get it! I just didn't want to hold them up while I am waiting on the w2c's :(. 9 employee's overpaid and 12 we overpaid. Not sure what to do there. I'm guessing those that we overpaid won't have a problem? Robin Yeah ... basically ... your overpayment don't matter, you can request a refund, b...

Re: revise 2020 w-2

So yeah, not just ONE person, the boxed was checked all year and I have checked a couple and now am quite sure they are ALL like that. I did order some w2c's from the IRS website yesterday. Shouldn't they be able to file without a corrected w-2? and then file a correction for last year? I. AM. DEFE...

Re: Correcting an Error by restoring

Yes, I am talking about just Power Church backups. The Powerchurch restore facility will display the date of the backup, as well as the type of backup, so you will see if its a 'full backup' of all the database (All Files w/Pictures) or just accounting. You should be able to select which date you n...

Re: revise 2020 w-2

I haven't written the employee a check yet, that's the first thing I should do and mark it for 2020 payroll? You're going to have to refund any extra amounts taken out for Jan & Feb too, that's fairly easy just manually adjust the employee's SS withholding in March to even it out. However, for 2020...

Re: Correcting an Error by restoring

I have my backups on a USB flash drive and also on the cloud. Unfortunately there are multiple serial backups listed and when I go through the PC utility to restore, I am unclear how to specifically designate the specific date backup that I need to utilize. I presume that I could put the specific o...

Re: revise 2020 w-2

It was information from their online tax service, is reads: Your employer withheld too much social security tax from your wages in 2020. Contact your employer to get a refund for the amount overpaid for your Social Security tax Let your employer know you need a corrected W-2 Once you get your corre...

Re: revise 2020 w-2

I also just noticed in the set up of the ss with-holdings that the employee part is checked to round up and the employer portion is not on the ss withheld. Should they both be one or the other? And if so, which is correct??? I am certain other folks have filed taxes but I am concerned that this may...

Re: revise 2020 w-2

An employee was processing their tax return and received a message that their employer withheld too much. I only take what the system calculates, anyway they need a new w-2 from me. How do I do that? PC 12.2 Why would they require a new W-2, since that shows what was taken out of their pay? When th...

Re: Correcting an Error by restoring

I have made an error on reconciling one of my accounts and I would like to somehow correct the error. Unfortunately the reconciliation was completed and currently cannot be altered. I was advised on the forum in the past that an error such as this could be cleared and could be done by going back to...

Re: Payroll check reprint once sent to fund acctg

I have another similar situation. I found two payroll checks from July 2018 that were never cashed. I voided them, I'm thinking I shouldn't have because I couldn't get reconciliation for 2019, so how can I reprint and once I find these individuals, get these checks to them. One check is for 11.54 a...

Re: Replacement Receipt Canada

I need to correct a Canadian tax receipt. According to CRA I need to generate a new receipt but add the words THIS RECEIPT REPLACES RECEIPT NUMBER 12345 (if that was the receipt number of the wrong receipt). When I add a note it doesn't add it to the CRA Sample #1 layout. Is there a way to get this...
