Re: ERROR Message: File p:\qmdict.dbf is read only
Anyone have any idea why I am getting the following message when I try to enter the custom report writer? PROGRAM: PCREIND LINE: 1016 ERROR: 1718 Message: File p:\qmdict.dbf is read only It does not matter whether I am in Membership, Accounting, Contributions or any other part of the system. When I...

Re: Migrating V9 datafiles manuelly to V10
I made the mistake and had two version of Powerchurch 9 and 10 on the server. One user(Membership and Contributor) ignored my email and continue to update Membership and Contibution. Can I just move the Contribution and Membership datafiles over to V10. If so what files do I move over Unfortunately...

#1 get a seperate computer to house powerchurch. if her PC crashes you are stuck Not really, as long as they keep a backup and can load PC+ from CD, they will still have access. FWIW ... the same scenario would happen if the server went down on a shared network. Backups are the key, not the program...

Re: Visitation report with only the last week of data?
I'm completely new to PowerChurch, so this may actually be easy. I'm wondering if there is a way to do a report for visitations done over the last week that doesn't list everyone in the database. (The standard report does lists everyone, whether they were visited in the last week or not, even thoug...

Re: budget ? - acct. no longer required
Just wondering...we have a few detail accounts this year that we have not allocated money to...I thought that I would go in and change the description from'budget directly on this account' to 'no budget for this account' (just in case there were any questions - someone scanning a report wouldn't th...

Re: Contributions over $250.00
Folks, We were wanting to run a custom report for those who have given over $250.00 at any given time. I.E., a check for $250 on 010506; $379 on 030606, etc. I followed the example in the book that came with V.9 and did in fact get the report for everyone who had done this, it was all on one report...

Re: Attendance Register Form
Is there any way to access this form to make custom changes? In Version 10 maybe? I need to have the names of the parents of children listed next to the children's names on the Sunday School attendance forms. I'm currently using version 9, but hope to upgrade to V.10 soon. It would also be nice to ...

Re: Backup
Jeff, What I'm doing now is to back up the entire program and hoping that if need be I can go to the external drive and open the backup copy and restore the data file. If this is not possible please let me know. Thanks, James I believe it would be safer to do a complete restore of the entire Powerc...

We have been looking at this for the last hour. Here is what we have decided to do. We are going to change the report to show three columns of numbers. The first column will show the total for that status code, the second will show the total for the status code that is included in mailings (mailing...

Re: Names on Contribution Statements
I was noticing the same problem with our end of year statements, but we also have a unique situation. We are a Christian Camp so we get organizations that donate to us. PC+ isn't really set up to handle longer organization names, so I break up the names in the First and Last name fields so it reads...

Is this contribution changing the Pastors salary? Are you taking the amount given and adding it to his usual pay? If it is not then what Neil says is correct. This is nothing more than a contribution to the fund that the pastors salary is paid out of. But then Neil is almost always correct. Emphasi...

Re: Designated Offering and Pastor's Salary
We have a member who designates a certain amount of their offering to be used to help pay the pastors salary. She does not do this every month. Instead, it may be 2 or 3 times per year. What is the best way to record this transaction. I am a bit confused since this is dealing with payroll as well a...

Re: Emailing Month End Reports
We are using version 9 and I would like to be able to email the month end reports to our Pastor. How would I set this up? There's no way to do it automatically, outside of setting up a keyboard macro. However, when you do the reports, make sure that you have the option 'send to screen' setup on the...

In the process of playing with this to see just how it works I found an interesting problem within my database. I have two envelope numbers with no contributions posted against them that came out on a 2006 report with $50 in both fields. As I researched this I found that one of the non-contributors...

Re: unposted contributions for last quarter of 2006
In checking the unposted contributions for the last quarter of 2006, I discovered that date was entered 12/31/2007 instead of 2006 and the payment type was entered as check instead of cash. We always use cash. We are talking about 600 + entries. It is taking too much time to change date on each ent...
