Let me check to see what we can do about starting a new search when the status has changed. As far as the Fast Data Entry that might be a bug. I think in the last beta that was posted, the Fast Data Entry had not been converted to the new searching routine. I believe it is done now and new beta sho...

I double checked the code. There has to be 3 seconds between keystokes for the program to consider it to be a new search. When we first added this feature we were using 3 times the double click speed setting for the mouse. Many people complained that was too quick, so we upped the time to 3 seconds...

Scrolling has nothing to do with starting a new search. Try waiting for 2-3 seconds before starting to type a new name. Version 8.5 added the option of using a barcode scanner. If you are entring attendance from an attendance register form, that would eliminate looking up people altogether. Jeff .....

Re: New Building Memorials

We are beginning the process of building a new sanctuary. We will be letting people "buy" items" (ie. pews, stained glass) in memory" of loved ones. The pastor is already advertising this. I want to keep it limited to a few items. How do I present this so people are not "buying" a million inexpensi...

Unfortunately, that would depend on your definition of "adult!" Remember, growing up is optional. Growing older is mandatory! What I'd like to see is the ability to enter the month and day of a senior's birthday without requiring the year. We have some folks who just do not want to share! Can you b...

Re: problems printing list of data files from answer archive

I have tried to print the list of the version 8 and 8.5 data files from the answer archive, using the printer friendly version. At every attempt, the printer prints the Power Church Software heading, the box requesting beta testers, and the heading: version XX data files. It then feeds out that she...

Re: Your views . . .

Hi, I am Richard & I would like some feedback from users of PC+. I recently was installed as Pastoral Support of a very small church in rural Iowa. Along with those responsibilities I was handed some church management software (can I say it? MP+) of which I have had nothing but problems! I have rec...

It's currently not a v9 feature (if you were beta testing, you'd know that  ). The v9 release is pretty mature, so I don't know what else, if anything, they'll be willing to put in there. It seems like a good idea though. Zaphod, I've been asking for this type of feature for about a year or m...

Re: Personal Profiles - Adult (Y/N)

Is there a way to define an "Adult" based upon the Birth Date field? This would avoid having to update records continually. Thanks - Joe M. There is no current way to do so, and I would rather not have this automatically updated without a way of turning it off. This, at least, forces a periodic rev...

I don't believe so.

Re: Salutation input

As we're inputting the salutation (i.e. "Mr. and Mrs. Smith"), is it necessary to input the comma at the end? The manual shows two examples: one has the comma, the other doesn't. Thanks - Joe M. Are you talking about the saluation on the Family Profile ?? AFAIK, we've never used a comma there, I be...

Re: Is anyone running PowerChurch Plus on Windows 2003 Serve

We have some users who are having trouble running PowerChurch on Windows 2003 server. Has anyone else experienced any type of problems here? And if you did how were you able to correct them? Havn't tried yet ... currrently running on Win2K serverr, with no problems. However, I can do some testing t...

We have a few contribution funds too .. however, they are broken down into groups like deductable contributions (operating fund, building fund, special mission or denomination collections), and non-deductable (men's retreat, bible study materials, etc). These are all linked to one bank account for a...
